Got to watch via ihigh. Ashland is better than many gove credit. T wast the Beach and Baker show like everyone thought would be. But more of a break out party for Prince and Vaughn of Ashland and Zane Snyder from Raceland. The Rams must usehim more in the redzone. He is a downhill hard nosed runner weha ent had since denton and carver left. Litteral is tough but snyder has a little more speed. This game made me feel better about the run game. Had raceland taken care of the football(their plague last year) they would have scored 2 or 3 more tds. Shore up ball control and we will be a scary team. Until then...it will continue to be let down after let down.

I agree with about Snyder. He was fun to watch. A good hard nosed runner.
I also watched on ihigh,Baker did not seem to be a very physical runner, I did not notice him breaking many tackles.
I was impressed by Ashland's QB and fullback.

Beaker reminded me alot of King from Fairview last year. Very ellusive, very fast, but if u wrap up and take him down on first contact, he is very managable. This game was lost on the offensive side of the ball. Fumbles and a redzone stall. Raceland looked like the better team from 10yd line to 10yd line. Must develop some sort of goal line package. With the size and speed in the freshman class the should be able to come up with something.
#13
Congrats to both teams on what appears to have been one hell of a game
#14
34 points and the offense lost it? Did the D score a couple TD's ?

What they need to develop is an OC who can get the plays called on time. That debacle in the red zone, in whatever quarter it was, is mostly on Sammons. Sure, the holding penalty is on the team, but it was still a manageable 4th down, but the delay of game is all on his method of getting the play in. Elkins was obviously unaware of the play clock, TJ or Sammons should of called a timeout at that point. It was a good game though.

Over 400 yds of offense..how about giving the boys some credit for playing their butts off tonight. There's no finger pointing, no one to blame, it was a heckuva high school football game. Raceland didn't make a few plays when they could have put the game away, bottom line. Great atmosphere, great game, both teams should be proud of their effort. Raceland proved tonight that they are a very dangerous team. Congrats to the TCats on the win. Great job to the Raceland coaching staff and players.

Wow. Great game to both teams!

Great job by the Cats tonight. Lots of different players stepping up to make some big plays.
Raceland is a very good team. They gave a heck if a fight tonight. Good luck to the Rams on the rest of the season

Very proud of the Tomcats tonight. I recall earlier in the week someone saying this game wouldn't be about how much Baker could run, but about all 22 guys out there. That turned out to be completely true, and I must say I was totally satisfied with the ability and effort of Prince with the ball tonight.

I don't think one delay of game penalty cost Raceland the game. Two bad snaps during the Drive is what put the Rams in a 3-4th & long goal situation. The two turnovers, missed extra points, and the tipped pass for an Ashland TD didn't have anything to do with the OC or the play calling either, nor did the fact that most Ram players were going both ways all night while only some of the Tomcats played both ways all night, which is due in part to the numbers game.

Lay off Coach Salmons...the Rams had 462 total yards of offense tonight. Evidently he's doing something right. I'd say that most people would be okay with those numbers if they were told before the game that that offensive output would be the result.

Your 1a and got beat by a solid 4a team in overtime, I would like to think that makes you a dangerous 1a team. I don't look forward to my Dawgs playing you in a few weeks.

Great game by to good teams, if they played ten times I think they would split the ten games. So many big plays by both teams and the touchdown by Baker that got called back was electric. Biggest problem for him was that it seemed most every time he touched the ball he was having to break a tackle almost each time either behind or at the line of scrimmage. And that catch at the end of the game, amazing play that kept the Cats from starting the year 0-2 heading into yet another tough game against George Washington next week at Putnam Stadium. Even with the loss I see a lot of potential with this Raceland team, they just need to shore up a few things and they should have a very good season this year, they have some talent down there!

E's Army Wrote:34 points and the offense lost it? Did the D score a couple TD's ?

Raceland had two TO on first two possessions of the game and a botched snap after getting a first and goal in 3rd quarter. Ashland's D could not stop Raceland all night.

You just beat a 1A school ,and just barely at that,,,,,,,,,,,,,and you let them score 34 points???......AT HOME!!!!......Aaaaaand, your gloating about it?????...Oh, I could only imagine the thrill you all would get in beating some 3rd and 4th grade flag football team some where. They next on the schedule????Confusednicker:

Seger pissed??? Naw, but I'd say in a few weeks when the big boys roll into town, you will be.

Where's NotsoBADCAT at??? I'm shocked he aint on here pounding his chest, gloating over a miracle come from behind victory over a Class A team, declaring once again that this is the greatest group ever assembled at dear ole PBHS......This is the kind of stuff he lives for.:blabbermo...:1:....:1:

First of all congrats to Ashland you played very hard and never stopped playing while you were down. Raceland did a lot of things right but they still lost. The 400 yards of offense is irrelevant when you don't win the game. Raceland had planets of opportunities to put his game away and try honestly should have won by at least two touchdowns. Ashland beat them because they wanted to win more plain and simple. Raceland has a better overall team but they just couldn't finish the deal. When it was 21-14 it looked as though they had relaxed as if they had a three touchdown lead and Ashland capitalized. They really need to start focusing on nutrition and conditioning also. To many boys went down with cramps and that is on the coaches for not making sure the players are physically ready. Last night showed me that Raceland still cannot win big games in pressure situations. They played hard and I will not take away from their efforts but I am abut old school and when it comes down to it the other stuff does matter if you don't win.

THE RAMS played tough hard nosed ball. The two fumbles came on very hard tackles. (No excuse).
Credit the cats for making the hits and recover. The game plan and play calling on both sides of the ballwas very good for the RAMS. Great game plan. Players have to make plays. We could have should have had the interception in the end zone. Bounced off his hands. A Td was called back for holding. And a drive to the 4 without a score. At the end of the day. The plays were there. The RAMS fails to execute! Happens sometimes. Proud of the effort from the coaching staff, players to the trainers. It was there for the RAMS. WE JUST GAVE IT AWAY!!

You know, I apologize for what I said last night, I was still frustrated and should have kept my trap shut, until this morning. Close games like that and being married to a Tomcat kill me sometimes. :insane:

I stand correct, you are not pissed. Your 4 paragraph post confirms that you are not upset in the least bit.
