Not sure why Trinity is 5th. They get punished for losing to a fantastic schedule and other teams don't get punished for losing?

Obviously we will know a lot more as the season progresses. I like it for now.

I noticed that myself. My top 3 in 6A would be Trinity, Scott County, St. Xavier in that order.

Ridiculous.
Trinity just lost by four points to the defending Indiana 6A champion who won their 18th consecutive game in the process. Trinity's previous loss was to the defending Tennessee state champions by one point. The Rocks' win was over a very large Indiana 6A team that is one of the top 5 or 6 teams in the state. Trinity plays Colrain next and then Indianapolis Cathedral. With the possible exception of Bowling Green, there is not another team in the state of Kentucky that would have had a prayer of starting the year 2-3 playing Trinity's schedule.
Ranking Trinity 5th in a weak football state just reinforces your growing reputation as a troll - and I am not a Trinity fan. If a team plays a tough schedule and gets hammered repeatedly, then they deserve no credit for strength of schedule but when a team plays some of the top teams in the nation down to the wire repeatedly without having half its roster carted off in ambulances, then you have to assume that the same team would be trouncing much weaker in-state competition.
How are you going to explain it when Trinity once again cuts through its in-state schedule like a knife through hot butter? Are you going to say that they have just improved more than all of the schools that you have ranked above them?
The tough schedule that Trinity plays is a key reason that the team has won so many state titles. That is a historical fact. You are ignoring history, which will repeat itself later this season.
(Outside of your 6A rankings, they look halfway reasonable for this point in the season, IMO.)

Are the folks that put together these rankings the same as the ones who do the regional rankings. Not that rankings matter but there are inconsistencies.

Most rankings look good but 6A is just ridiculous.
How in the world can you put Trinity at #5 and St. Xavier at #7? There is absolutely no reason for them to be that low. I still don't understand why people are so high on Henry Clay. What have they done that makes them better than Trinity? Tates Creek has played no one either, they have done nothing to deserve to be ranked above other teams that aren't.
I normally don't complain about rankings but 6A is just a disaster.

I still think Corbin is underrated for the 3rd week in a row. Anybody who has seen this team play has to agree this is a very solid top 5 team. They are ranked over bell in the mountain top 10. Just think people still are not taking Corbin serious!! Guess we will se how they handle Danville this week.

Who has Corbin defeated since moving to 3A?
What quality teams have they played this year?
I can see making argument to put Corbin in the #9 or #10 spot, but there is absolutely nothing that would justify putting them in the Top 5 of 3A against wither teams who have proven they belong with quality wins, or veteran teams like Bourbon County who return nearly everyone off a State Semi-Finalist team.
If Corbin defeats a mediocre Danville then they merit attention for the 10 spot... if Corbin defeats a down Bell they deserve merit for the Top 7...if Corbin defeats a loaded Wayne County then they deserve Top 5 mention... but until then Corbin is an unproven commodity who has not proven they have been able to adjust to the move to 3A until they beat someone with a pulse.

Currently Russellville should be number 2 in 1a. I would also rank Pikeville, Raceland and Hazard above Williamsburg.

I would also put Paducah Tilghman ahead of Fort Campbell in 3a after seeing them both in action.

You play a week schedule and win and that places you a higher ranking? Wow I guess Trinity, Saint X, Lex Cath should just schedule cupcake schedule and get the top spot year in and year out.

6A is crazy. No way Trinity is 5th. They are still my pick to win it all this year. The 2 teams thy have lost to would have probably have beaten everyone but scott county by doubke what they beat trinity by. Imo Trinity will win the 6A crown. In single A, I have a hard time having Wburg ranked higher than Raceland, Fairview, and Pikeville. 1 is clear cut i would put rville over bwood at this point. Fairview's win over Lawrence allowed me to see that Fairview has defensive potential. So i am fine with Fairview at 4, but would rank Pikeville at 5 and Raceland at 6. I will be shocked if one of those 3 teams dont represent the East this year.

You can't go on what they have done since moving to 3A!! That's crazy talk! I'm going off watching them play. The had a big cupcake last week at Trimble Co I agree. They shut out Southwestern in week one (the same team that scored 28 on Knox Central and took them to OT) and destroyed PCC who beat Clay 21-0. Ive watched the hounds for a looooooooong time an this team is the best I have seen. Sit back on watch as they lay the smack down on Wayne and Bell at their house. You can't rank a team on who they haven't played. This early in the season you have to look at who they played and how they played in those games. GO BIG RED!

Corbin has no resume..that's my point.. you can't rank them on who they haven't played...but you also can't defend their ranking when they haven't played anyone. At least what they have done since moving to 3A is some indicator of a trend. That trend is the fact Corbin has yet to prove they can beat a quality opponent.
Southwestern s 0-3 and traditionally one of the weaker teams in EKY, 14-0 is less than impressive.. everyone knows that Knox Central is not what they have been the past 3 or 4 years. Pburg is not a very strong team and they took Knox to the last play as well. The value of a win over Southwestern is nothing at this point. if Belfry goes into Southwestern and beats them by 40 how will that reflect? A Top 5 3A team should be within 2 TD's of Belfry.. this would not help your argument
PCC beat Clay 21-0 for their lone win... true...but what merit does beating one of the weakest teams in EKY this season have, especially when that team has no offense? If you want to use the fact Clay beat Bell in a scrimmage, I would caution you that on the same night 1A Pikeville throttled Perry Central as well. Perry Central is at best a middle of the pack team, but even their fans said they are down more this year than they have been in a while.
Trimble County may be the worst team in the entire State of Kentucky Nothing to discuss there. It's liek Corbin didn't even play Friday.
As I said, Corbin has their chance to make a move against a decent Danville, a down bell, and a very good Wayne Co. Until then, there is nothing in Corbin's recent past, nor their on field performances, that merit anything more than keeping an eye on them. As it stands now there are about 10 teams who would have the same record as Corbin right now... all equally deserving of the #10 spot. I am giving Corbin the benefit of the doubt at this point.

Looks much better to me. I still don't understand how anyone could think that there are 4 teams in 6A better than Trinity. That is just plain crazy.
I would probably replace Tates Creek and Dixie with two out of this group: Manual/Ballard/Butler/Meade County, but 6A is hard to rank after about the first 5.
Other than 6A, I think these rankings look pretty good.

No problem w williamsburg. As i have stated before, i hope they pull through this year. I am just going by history. Though Raceland hasnt been able to win that ellusive regional title, who ever they have lost to, generally goes on to win in the state semis. Raceland, Fairview, even Nicholas county haw owned the games between them, Williamsburg or Campbellsville, at the hs level. So itshard for me to put then above Raceland. This isnt the first time the jackets have had alot of expectations and tallent. They never seem to have the sefense to pull off the win

Have you looked at the teams that your #'s 3,4, and 5 have beat? Your ranking them on hype especially Wayne!!! How can you rank a team 5th in 3A that lost to a 1a? I'm guarantee Corbin could have played the same teams as te 3,4&5 and would be 3-0 still. This is a team Wayne squeezed by last year, Corbin is 10 times better this year. Come on down to Corbin Friday night if you want to watch a top 3A team in the state play!!! Obliviously we don't agree I want you to look back on this post about 11/01/2013 when Corbin goes perfect 10-0. You wil have to eat a little crow!! Lol

Wayne County has beat a decent Garrard County (not a powerhouse, about on par with Danville)and a traditionally strong Monroe County who was a 3A Semi-Finalist last year. They equated themselves much better than Corbin in the playoffs playing Central to the wire and return 9 starters on each side of the ball.
South Warren beat a pretty solid Warren East team
Bourbon hasn't played anyone except a down Breathitt County, but they have beat them the way they should. Breathitt County is on par with Southwestern and Bourbon made short work of them while Corbin struggled with the Warriors. Bourbon also returns 9 starters from a team who was 13-0 before losing in the Semi-Finals.
All three have better wins than Corbin so far, had a better playoff run last season, and return just as much experience as the Redhounds.
As I said, this is nothing against Corbin, but as of right now they simply have not proven themselves. They will have their chance the next few weeks.. but the way I see it the case is pretty open and shut right now.
