#1
:welcome: who wins
#2
J.C wins but the refs will try and keep it close!!!
#3
Johnson Central should win this game. They had better be ready though. Crazy things happen on Friday nights in Irontn
#4
Never been too ironton bud every body does talk about home field advantage .
#5
Johnson central 48. Ironton Ohio 12 Golden Eagle is for real :truestory:

Last season when we played over their they were an official short, so they proceeded to pull a fan of theirs out of the stands with his orange I shirt on. He then puts on a zebra shirt over that and is the back judge in our game! You haven't seen home cooking until you visit Tank stadium!!
#7
Johnson Central by 2-3 TD's
#8
Lions (Got destroyed), Tigers & Bears (Got embarrassed)..... So far JC is 2-0 vs. the "Wizard of Oz" teams.

Since we don't play the Apple Bowl anymore on Apple Day Thursday night. JC takes out their frustration on some Tigers. The Ironton Tigers.
#9
I could see home field refs playing a part in a close game, but JC won't give them a chance to play that part Confusednicker: JC another blowout...Go represent the mountains and the state JC as we know you will...
#10
Tigers are down this year i see a easy win for the eagles.
#11
JC by 28.
#12
There is definitely a home field advantage at Tank stadium to the tune of 7 to 14 points. But that won't be enough as JC puts a beatdown onto the Ironton program that is on a downswing because of the loss of Lutz.
#13
I, for one, wouldn't mind seeing a lot of chicanery at The Tank if it keeps this game close. This team needs to face some adversity. So far it has been too easy this season.
#14
JC is probably 30 points better. Just like last year but look at the results from the ashland ironton and JC games last year. and you know the officials will keep it close. I expect JC to have about 100 yards in penalties and win by a td

It's too bad that JC doesn't play Bell County this year.

The two times JC has played Bell Co. in the Matney era was in 2009 @ JC (JC lost 6-36) and 2010 @ Bell Co. (JC lost 18-42).

I'm not all about the "King of the Mountains" title, but it would be nice to go to Log Mountain and get a W. Not to mention getting our kids a game in that kind of environment.

@ The Tank; @ Greenup County; @ Putnam Stadium; @ The CAM.

3 of the 4 away games JC has this regular season are some of the hardest places to play in our area.

I agree that those are tough places to play. I just wish, with Belfry being the exception, that the opponents offered better competition this year.

I don't think JC can afford to overlook Ironton. Just last year everyone discredited Ashland because of the outcome of there trip to Tank Stadium after JC laid a beat down on them at home. I think there was a 5 TD swing comparing scores. I'm not sure that Ironton has a 5 TD advantage by playing at home but everyone agrees it is pretty significant. I look for JC to win by 3 TD's but it will come with lots of adversity.

Correct me if I'm wrong, my memory isn't what it used to be.

Last season Ironton came out and tried to run the ball against JC. And that didn't work.

Then Ironton started throwing the ball and that massive TE they had was catching everything and they put up some quick TD's. After Ironton got within a few scores, they went back to running the ball and JC shut'em down.

I would love to see Ironton throw the ball against us. We need to see as many scenarios as possible before the playoffs. And what a better place to work on our passing defense at The Tank.
#22
Has Ironton been primarily a pass or run team? I agree, more pass defense will help JC in the long run but it needs to be quality passing to pay dividends
#23
You don't even know what kind of offense they run, yet you can predict JC with a 3 TD cushion?....You must be psychic!!

I know that traditionally they are heavy run, just haven't seen them this year. Just wondering if they were more balanced with the loss of their big back last year to graduation.

Yet, one can go out on a limb and project a 3TD margin?

BTW, Their most dangerous back last year was a slim speedster.

My prediction is like most a prediction not a wager. Yes he was known for his supposed speed, but I just seen him as big and if I recall he didn't like the contact the JC defense provided and saw limited playtime.

He wasn't big, but was very fast...He was supposedly injured on one of the first Ironton possessions.

I don't recall seeing him use break away speed. Like I said he was injured or hampered early in the game.

He got hit a few times by some of our all-state wrestlers.... and he had enough. Trust me, I was as close as anybody.
