Clay County @ Knox Central 10-4-13

Thoughts?

I think KC takes this one. Clay still isnt at the level that KC is at. The Panthers are strong and talented and are gonna make some noise. Like I was always told, once District play starts its a whole new season.
#3
At the beginning of the year I would have taken the Panthers by 20+, but at this point in the season I just don't know. It's really a matter of which Panther team shows up. I think that KC will put things together and pull this one out by 10.

Toss up.
Both looked pretty similar to me.
If Clay stops Gist and Mills, they win.
If Knox stops Carr, they win.

It really is pretty much that simple.
#5
Knox by 14. Gist & co will be to much for clay.
#6
Knox is better up front. Panthers by 10.

If Knox can get the ship righted on defense this game won't even be close. If the same defense shows up that's played the few games clay could very well pull what most would call and upset.
As far as the panther offense goes it's getting better. This past game they showed a lot of different looks that they hadn't done all year. As long as Gist and company can hang on to the ball they should be fine.

Stopping Carr is going to be one of the panthers biggest challenges. He is a very good running back.
#13
Clay has another back #9 Arnett who has made some freakish runs in the last two games, he's almost as quick as Carr if he turns the corner he'll be gone. I watched him Hurdle a kid over at Leslie County this past Friday in a freakish move very few kids could make, of course they threw a flag on him and called the TD run back. I just wanted to give this Arnett Kid some respect, he is very capable of having a 200 yard rushing game.

Clay pulls off the upset by 3.

^^
No disrespect meant on the Arnett boy hadn't heard anything about him. I will keep and eye on him Friday.
#15
Oh No Problem... Most folks haven't heard of him, but he's the real deal. He does a wonderful job when Mr. Carr gets winded, and holds his own on the defensive side of the ball.

Can't believe that all of the panther faithful have stopped posting. Guess you can say I'm the true panther fan!!!

I have not left you yet just been out of town for a few days. Only ones that have seem to disappeared was the ones that was running there mouth before the Bell game. I should get to go to the game this week, and if the same Clay team that played North shows up I would think Central would win big, but I have a hard time putting the Bell game out of my mind. So I'm hoping Knox wins.

From everything I've heard and seen last week it is over. The only time he saw the field last week was when Barger came out a few plays after getting hand steped on and getting breath knocked out of him.

Glad to see toy back insideinfo. Your right no one else has been on here since bell game. Won't name names but very sad we loss a game and they stop posting.

I to have had a hard time understanding what the hell went wrong in the bell game.. Oh well games go on so I got to keep up with the panthers.

Diamond looks like he has the tools but not quite ready. He could be a horse next year.
#25
Yes he has the tools to do a great job. But you have to remember he is still a freshman.
#26
I swore off posting on this site; but... The Freshmen experiment is my son. And we support Coach Russell 100%. He is a great coach and a fine man who I respect and admire. He has decided Casey is not best for our team at this point and we support that and appreciate the opportunity he has had. He will be ready when and if he is needed the rest of this year.

As for the game this week I'm confident the Panthers will prevail. The defense is improving and the offense is on a roll. Barger may be the best pure athlete in the Region. He can do it all and Clay will have a tough time stopping him and our running attack.

KC 28

Glad to see a parent sticking with a coaching staff rather than taking his son elsewhere at the first sign of adversity. Your son will be better for it.

I enjoy the site. For obvious reasons its a bit personal for me and prayerfully I have been led to reduce my contribution so that I am not drawn into something that embarrasses my son or my faith. You do a great job representing the Panthers and our fans.

Make no mistake - I have struggled with all of this as has Casey. He is a competitor to the bone and feels he could be helping the team on the field. And if he did not feel that way I would worry that he was sick...LOL. But we truly believe in Coach Russell and the entire coaching staff and will support what they decide for the rest of the year whatever that is. The Panthers are having a fine season and have a chance to win the District for sure. That is what matters most - the team.
