You had mentioned yesterday that a starting running back for Fairview had quit the team. I thought Yetts, King And Brown were the the starters? Brown and Yetts played, King is injured, who quit? Just curious.

Sorry my mistake here . I misunderstood what i was told . Completely my fault . A RB did quit , but not who i thought . The RB who quit was not a starter , but was a role player who got 1st string snaps . Sorry again for my screw up .

Metzler as i stated was a unconfirmed rumor i had heard . Which turned out to be just that a rumor thank goodness , he is fine & did play last night

Pike Central shot themselves in the foot many times. When Fairview gets the ball on the PC 10, 30, and 35 its hard to play defense. Fairview is a good football team. They have played a pretty good schedule and so have the hawks. For the Hawks to win they need to start making teams have longer than 35 or 40 yard drives. The quarterback from PC looks awesome. Just hope he don't hang his head because they have a good district game coming up in LC. Personally I feel that Lawrence has the edge just because of the issues above but the hawks have seen a lot more speed than what Lawrence has seen. Henry Clay and Fairview were fast and Lawrence isn't as fast as those two teams. Comparing teams and scores from last year means nothing.

Lawrence has seen some fast teams also. Remember that we had to play Fairview also and Raceland has some fast kids also. As far as our speed goesI will say this, you don't need to be very fast when you run the ball like the dawgs have this year. We aint as big as Fairview on the OLine but that line of ours has had there way with every team we have gone up against this year and that includes Fairview. We do have a few quick players also that a lot of people don't know much about. We have a kid at TB #2 who can move and another kid #4 who can move but we have a kid #11 at receiver who not one person on any team this year has been able to catch when he is at full speed. The kid number #11 also plays in the defensive backfield and if you go for a deep pass you better put it where he can't get to it because he will make you pay. All the pass teams we had this year would try to go deep but when #11 was put deep they wanted no part of it.

Talon Wrote:Props to our 2nd stringers who stepped up tonight with several 1st stringers not playing for various reasons . I will say this i am one to NEVER complain about refs , but tonight it was more than obvious of home cooking . I actually have on video a ref telling one of our fans "we are here to make sure you lose " . Lawerence Co if you play them at home you are 2 to 3 TDs better , if you play them at PCC , good luck !
Why is it that when Fairview is in a close game it's always because they had players not playing? Seems like it's always an excuse for you Talon.

From what i gather FHS has been dealing with sickness within the team , & injuries most of the yr . The only time FHS has had a full squad play this yr was the 2nd half of the Hazard game . In the PCC game FHS was without starters RB/DB Isaiah King , & 3 yr starter DE/DB Chris Perkins. Also 1st string DL Davis went down early in this game , although he did come back late but very limited . Look it up if you wish . Anytime you lose multiple starters it can hurt a team . 2nd stringers are ok but 2nd stringers for a reason .

1A teams can be decimated by just a couple of injuries.

Of the five teams in you listed it will probably boil down to the team that is the most healthy come play off time. Injuries for most 1A teams are a major component in play off success. Even Mayfield had some injuries that hurt them when they played Hazard and lost a few years ago.
