I will take the sleeper, PT.
#4
PT?? That is craziness.

Central is still the king and they find a way every year to win. Not always pretty, but they get it done. They will be around when the dust settles.
#5
I'll take wayne county and belfry in the finals!!
#6
Central needs a quarterback. , but they do know how to "get it done"
#7

What happened to #4 from last year? I don't think he was a senior was he?
#8
He's still there (Tedford) he regressed , they have a spectacular soph who has a foot injury.
#9
Belfry, Wayne, Central, PT. 3A is very competitive this year. Corbin could also slide through.
#10
As of right now I am seeing the Regional Finals as:

South Warren vs. Paducah Tilghman
Wayne County vs. Central
Bourbon County vs. Mason County
Belfry vs. Lawrence County
#11
Central is still Central until someone beats them when it matters.
Belfry can anyone not named Central beat them?
Wayne has some fundamental issue to fix i.e. tackling.
Corbin is capable at taking down anyone but can they when the stage is the biggest?

A week ago I liked Bourbon to upset Belfry in the Regionals at home, but without Pope that is very unlikely.

I'll shake it up and say Belfry-Wayne in the finals with Belfry finally bringing home the hardware again.

I would love to see a healthy Bourbon v. a healthy Central. It would without a doubt be an offensive war. Though I think Central would beat Bourbon, Bourbon matches up much better with Central than they do with Belfry.
#13
Belfry and tilghman in the title game. Hopefully with belfry winning.
#14
I would not count Breathitt out. They are getting better each week

PT defense destroys Wayne offense according to the king of pretenders and contenders, mysonis55. With him having said that it is a done deal PT will win 3A.

I am counting them out

I sense a little sarcasm in your tone of voice.

It should be noted, that each and every school's title hopes in the West go through Central. Once the king is dethroned its anyone's game, but until then everyone else is playing for second in the region.

Yup...and I still think people aren't quite respecting Central's team...specifically their defense.

There is no doubt this isn't the same Central team of the past few years offensively... but this is still a defense with 3 D1 prospects anchoring it. They only have 3 losses and two of those are to a pair of the Top 7 6A teams in the State in games where they were firmly in the mix until the very end.
#21
Central is the champs until they are beaten in the playoffs. That will be a tall task for anyone.
#22
youknowthegame Wrote:I would not count Breathitt out. They are getting better each week

They are gonna need alot more weeks to get to the contender level....
#23
Well then, Central and PT have the same number of prospective d1 players on defense. But PT has offense and home field.
#24
I think Bourbon Co. is a dangerous team, them or the usual Central
#25
You will be able to tell PTs future from how they play at home Friday against Fort Campbell. If they come out flat, and lose or struggle to win, then they will not be a factor in the playoffs. If they cannot get up for this game, then its pretty much over. Unlike the 2009 miracle finish, there is no personnel to change this year. There is no magic bullet in the clip.

On the other hand, if these individuals decide to play as one instead of as 11, you will hear more from them. They control their own destiny.

Central has only scored 103 points in 6 games so far thats 17.166666 points per game,,but against some tuff teams, we will see how much that avg goes up the next few weeks, the last couple yrs there offense numbers have been better..
#27
Unless something crazy happens it's going to be Belfry vs Central/Wayne/Corbin. That's a fact jack whoever comes out of the central side blows PT or Mason out. IMO they aren't even close to Wayne Corbin and central. I think Belfry is there regardless.
#28
Mason is in the east.
#29
Sorry I meant Monroe
#30
Im not changing my prediction from last year.
Wayne vs. Belfry in the finals.
