Sounds like to me this guy has no clue who the black bears are. They play some of the best teams in the mountains. Just who has pc played other than Madison southern??

HC by a lot...I hope Whitley gets their program turned around. A good Whitley Co. team makes HS football around here a lot more interesting...

I may be missing something here, but this Whitley team played a decent Bell team to 21-14 and I know they have a couple good players at least (Mills and their QB) I realize they havent won a game and they gave up a million points to an athletic Perry Central team last week, but they are going to be at home and I would think their staff would be trying to get this team to prove to their fan base that they havent completely laid down and QUIT. WC will score some points, but HC still has a lot to play for so in the end the score will probably get ugly.

I think the score will be ugly, but not as bad as some think..The reason for that is Coach Larkey is going to take this to time to work on alot of different things, he's really working on a more balanced offense, now if everything he tries works, then yes it will be very ugly and quickly..The defense will be stubborn as for allowing yardage and points, if they don't give up any big plays then WC is in for a very long night.

Not since the late 70's I think. Maybe fever can remember, but i think its happened twice. Once in the 60's and once in the 70's. Maybe even the 80's around 84.
If memory serves me right, Whitley won district in 81 I think.
There only losses that year was to a really good Corbin team in the prime of there football era. That next year they won state, and some think they should have won it in 81. Whitley was in a transition phase of coaches and were losing a lot of players to Wburg and Corbin around that time. Whitleys football program didnt start until 63, which is the year the schools consolidated, but I believe they only played a JV schedule that year, and started varsity ball in 64. So this year will be 50 years of Whitley football.
Only 2 or 3 winless seasons, but a whole lot of losing seasons before Campbell took over.

Only problem is it wasnt a decent Bell team.
Its there worst team ive ever seen. Not trying to be cruel, but its the truth. Ive never seen this in this big of a rebuilding phase. If Whitley even had the amount of talent they did last year, they would have won the game. I think that was the big killer for the season. After getting killed by a not so good Morristown West and a really good madison southern, it was kind of a make or break game, and the loss set us back.
While im not one to speak on injuries, id like to see how many players have gone out at some point for Whitley this year. In the Bell game, Hooper, the starting fullback was lost for the year with a broke ankle, Mills didnt even play, nd to be honest, has only played in 3 games, a little of the first game, and then the past couple, and now Ysidro is out. That the entire backfield that has went down this season and havent even got to play together.
And still, it wasnt always the offense, Whitley just hasnt played a lick of defense yet. I would imagine this team has given up more points than any other Whitley team to ever step on the field. At leasti can remember this much getting scored on a Whitley team in my lifetime.
But, all will be fine, and the sun will come up tomorrow. I think they better start thinking about what direction they want to take the program though, and they desperately need to figure out what to do to get kids out to play.

As one of your bear friends says, beat there eyes out, shut there eyes close, roll there eyeball back, poke them like larry, moe, and curly, or something. Im not real sure. He sounds like a very angry man.
