Boyle's style of giving up yardage w/o giving up points tends to keep scores closer. I think their opponents run 15 or more extra plays per game. I don't think they will get many running clock situations and Im not sure I really want them too. Just Win Baby!

Not sure about the number of plays per game 'cause the KHSAA dose not keep the opponents number of plays on the stats page but Lex cath is the only team that has out gained Boyle this year in yds and it was only 59 yds and about half thier yds came on 3 or 4 plays.Anderson may have had 10 or 12 more yds than Boyle i'm not sure but stat wise this game was basicly even.i would think Anderson would be the only team that has ran more plays than Boyle in a game this year.so far Boyle has had 3 running clock games this year.

Yardage per play I think Boyle is at a big advantage. I think the defense struggles to get off the field on 3rd down a lot. This leads to the opponent running several more plays per game. Just an observation. I think they are doing great, but cleaning up 3rd down on defense a little would get our offense more chances.

I believe the defense is fine. It's the offense that worries me.

Looks like this threads dead but i don't guess there is a whole lot to discuss if Boyle plays as expected it shouldn't be close.

There is really nothing to talk about... Ground and pound by Boyle Co should be plenty. No one will challenge the Rebels till they meet up with Russell Co. and/ or Knox Central.

Me either Boyle... I just figured I would throw that out there cause If I went ahead and said something about Lex Cath, Jack Lambert would think I was talking negative about the Rebels. I think your right BC and Lex Cath part II. See ya at the game brother and good luck the rest of the season.

Well I hope we get another shot at Boyle. We first need take care of winning our district and gaining home field through the first couple rounds. If we were to win district, reaching a game with Boyle would more than likely mean that we would be in the regional final, (a place we have never been before). We are trying not to look ahead. Don't print up those "Boyle-Cath II" T-shirts just yet, district 6 may still prove to be challenge!

Which is why I said, and I quote, "I better not count my chickens". Russell County had a tough team last year and I am clueless as to what they bring this year. From what I understand, they aren't as good as last years team. This years Boyle County team is better than last years. That doesn't really mean a whole lot. I'm sure the Laker team would embrace the opportunity of playing Boyle County again and I am also sure they would give 100%. I just believe Boyle County is definitely the better team. Love it, hate it. It is an opinion. Either way, we are a long way from there and I know the Rebels are focused on Marion County.

And it is my opinion that you just might run into a "REAL" threat when and if you play the Lakers : A Laker team that held you to 14 points last year and may have a stronger defense this year, is overall more physical across the board and less one dimensional on offense. I have said these last few years that we have to prove we can play with the big boys in 4A. Now we have to prove that we can beat a few. Boyle has a great tradition, coaching staff and team as I said before I hope we get the chance to play Boyle again. We are not counting our chickens over here either although we probably have a few more around than you do in Danville or Lexington.

Depends on which rankings you look at. I've seen them as low as 4th in some polls.

IMO the only poll that carries any weight is the AP and Boyle is # 2 in 4A in the AP.what really matters to me though is how deep a team goes in the playoffs then you know how good they really are.

What rankings are you looking at?
Of the ones that matter, I haven't seen them any lower than 2. But if the rankings is really what you are debating in a prediction thread then power to you.

Alright FB, are you trying to throw us off? You say Boyle County will win big but yet you vote for Marion County.

Russell County would love another shot at Boyle. This is said with absolutely no disrespect for an excellent Boyle County team. Boyle, rightfully so, would be the favored team but in my opinion Russell is close enough to pull an upset if our boys get amped enough and play a really good game. We are close enough where anything could happen, maybe not a real threat but a dark horse.
