Really? You know, going into the game, I was worried and I thought Fairview would win this one, but I don't think they were ever in the game. I guess Isaiah King does make that big of a difference. I respect you and your opinion and insight, but you have to drop the injuries and suspension excuses.

Interesting, they had turnovers almost like in Dec of last year.

In the words of one of my heroes, Rodney King, "Can't we all just get along"

mysonis55 Wrote:Leave it to Talon to come out with that. Raceland had big injuries as well. Could it be what I had said earlier this year? That is that Fairview is not as tough as they thought. They squeaked by Hazard. Hazard quit the run and kept kicking the ball to them or they wouldn't have even been in that game.

Raceland had 1 injury in a position they were deep in . FHS Dline was pretty much out , King a key DB out . If a healthy FHS played a healthy RHS , FHS i feel is 10 to14 points better . With so many injuries right now with FHS i dont see getting past the 2nd round , so if im right i am defintely pulling for the Rams in the playoffs since they are a home area, team, but i feel if they meet Hazard they will get beat by 2 if not 3 TDs

Hats off to the Raceland coaching staff. They obviously watched their film. Fairview has deadly speed in the return game. But in the few Fairview games i have watched their second level kick off return guys have steuggled all year getting the ball in their hands. The pooch and squib kicks worked really well. Raceland's defense stunned me tonight. True, Fairview had defensive starters out tonight. But Raceland's defense stepped up in a major way. The LBs and Corners, namely Josh Young played great. That int retur by Maverick Dixon was absolutley nuts. Great down field blocking and great downfield "letting up" on that return. It was either Young or Vance that had a hance to destroy a Fairview guy on a blindside, but rather than risk a clipping call, he just got in the guys way and let Dixon read off of him.

Messer is a play maker and man what a freakin beauty of a pass he threw on 4 and 1. The way Raceland won tonight, imo is a statement. I was shocked but Fairview hardly ever got to the edge. I feel thy should have ran Dolen more. He seemed to be the only Eagles back with the toughness to run at the Rams defense. Brown, Heightower, and Thomas(i think), are fast but all go down fairly easy. Raceland finally got past one hurdle, many more to go. Praying this was not Raceland's last effort. If they can play like this against what is a VERY good and VERY strong Fairview team, then they need to remember it, and bottle t if they have to. Because the playoffs r three weeks away and a rematch wit the Eagles is a good possibility. But Pikeville, Hazard, and Williamsburg will all have their say so in t as well

Raceland only scored three points off of Eagle turnovers so you can't really use that as an excuse.
#42
Time of possession made a big difference. Raceland seemed to have the ball the entire game.

I wasnt reffering to turnovers , but i guess the pic six dont count as Raceland scoring off turnover ? Not sure how many turnovers we had or Raceland points scored off of turnovers , because i wasnt thinking about that at all
#44
Congrats Rams.

Raceland went on to kick a field goal after the fumbled kickoff. Then Dixons pick 6. That was their pts of turnovers. Proud of the Rams offense tonight.

Well, I was referencing Raceland's offense scoring off of your turnovers but you are right, the pic six does count as well, but in reality poor tackling resulted in that score. Raceland may well have driven and scored anyway had Dixon been tackled.

Very proud of how that Raceland team played tonight. Thought it was a super classy move walking onto the field and letting Joseph and Litteral lead the way.

Ric...
U got any stat numbers? Other than turnovers?

I also thought both teams showed tremendous class with the post game handshake. As chippy and rough as that game has become over the years, I thought it showed what the game is all about. Hsrd nosed rovalry, but it doesnt have to be a big fiasco.

The game could have been even worse for the Wood. Raceland easily should have had 17 more points. It was WONDERFUL seeing all those bandwagon jumpers walk out of there midway through the third quarter. I was wrong about this game, and am very glad for it. Thank you Raceland for a wonderful Friday evening in your fair town. WOO HOO!!!! LOVE IT!!!!

Thanks Ric. Loved Racelands running back by commitee. Imo the way we played offense, consistantly gaining 4-5 yards a play was leaps and bounds better than a big play here and there.

agree, ball control means a lot in football. I hate that most of the time we abandon the run looking for a big play. Many times that has killed us.

Congrats to the Rams players and coaches on an outstanding effort. Definition of a team win tonight. The playmakers stepped up and made plays when it counted and the entire team played hard for 48 minutes. Elkins managed the game well, made the throws that needed to be made and took care of the football. He has grown into a great leader and a steady hand for this Raceland offense. Rams D took care of business. Tonight showed that when this team comes to play, they are without a doubt a top contender to represent the East in Bowling Green. Messer and Beach are special, two most dynamic players on the field tonight. Congrats to the Rams, enjoy this one! Finish the job next week vs a competitive Paintsville team.

Nice to see all you fickle "Ram fans" eating some crow.. More than happy to have you guys along for the ride to BG. Maybe next time you will have a little faith "your" team. The boys have worked too hard not to have earned your respect regardless of the outcome from tonight. Once again, great job RAMS! Let's go get a district championship!!

Only negatives I saw from this game were:

A. 2 drives came up short. One a field goal was missed. Imo on the 3rd down play they should have done what they did before the first field goal and thats run a play that either gets a first down or a td OR at the bery least, centers the ball for ur kicker. The other points left out there came on a dropped (nearly certain) pick six by McComas(sp), dropped, and the other was on the drive where we had to Punt.

B. One high snap. We didnt make dumb penalties for the most part.

Congrats on the win

I for one will admit that I was very happy to be proven wrong. Those boys went out there, played hard, and brought home the win. I will also give the coaches alot of credit, they made alot of good adjustments last night. Their game plan on special teams was really smart because it took Fairview's playmakers out of the game. I also enjoyed seeing Connor play QB and I hope to see some more of it because it brought a lot of diversity to the offense. Last night was a good win but we have to move on now and focus on Paintsville. That game scares me with its potential to be a trap game because Paintsville isn't a bad team. If the Rams show up like they did last night they will beat Paintsville by 50, but if they overlook Paintsville, things may be interesting.

Rams in driver seat to regional final. Who will be there? Pikeville or a rematch with Fairview?
