64, It may start in Wburg but, that hurdle will be jumped by Hazard in round 3.

Talon Wrote:To be honest between injuries on the D , & our own mistakes is what beat us . Not trying to take away from Raceland but i was more impressed with Hazard , Bellevue , & Pike Couny Central than i was with Raceland tonight .

But you just did!!
Both teams were missing players!
One in a wheelchair and two on crutches!
Against Lawrence Co we were missing both starting running backs.
Fairview has a nice team. No doubt!! It took a great effort to beat them.
See, Hazard, Bellevue AND Pike Co Cent. didn't beat Fairview.
Guess we just caught you on a bad night!
CLASS!!!

Slic Ric Wrote:Well, I was referencing Raceland's offense scoring off of your turnovers but you are right, the pic six does count as well, but in reality poor tackling resulted in that score. Raceland may well have driven and scored anyway had Dixon been tackled.

I agree 100% . Raceland i believed would have drove , & scored anyways, but man that was the poorest excuse for tackling i have ever seen . That was unbelievably bad by FHS

I always love the discussion and comments after a raceland and Fairview game.. Raceland will be a hard out If they play with that much emotion later on in the playoffs. Fairview will be better in the playoff as well and to be honest since your Fairview I think this loss is good for you because its show you that you must play a complete game to win against solid teams. Fairview has 2 wins in which they could of lost but they managed to win them at that's the Hazard game and the Pike Central game. But you have to give credit because they made the adjustments to win those game even though in the hazard game I cant understand why they got away from the run. But to the statement someone made about Raceland getting beat by hazard by two to 3 touchdowns is crazy. But I will agree with the statement that hazard may of impressed you more because you don't see them usually unlike a raceland team. But I will also say in high school football match ups between teams will always match up differently than others and that makes different outcomes of games. But I will say I do think Hazard, Raceland ,Pikeville and Williamsburg are all mirror images of one another.

I have felt all year that Raceland should win that district and be the team to beat in the east. I was just concerned because they seemed to let the tougher teams beat them. Talon, yall have been very fortunate to win a couple of your games this year. I don't think the Eagles are as good as their record indicates.

Fairview has been, for the most part, much bigger and much stronger than their opponents and much faster. Last night they played a team that wasnt as big, but was as strong and faster, from side line to side line. Fairview only got to the edge once, resulting in a 45 yd run and setting up a 1 yard score. Other than that, the 16 yd td run By Dolen was their biggest gain i believe. Racelands corners played great, the lb tackled well, the dline played outstanding. Holding a team as big as fairview and as fast as fairview to 150 yds less than their average rushing and allowig only 2 big runs is a testimate to Racelands game plan and play defensively. Say what u want about Eagle's injuries, but Raceland would have won that game either way. Risner and Boggs had big nights defensively. The games against Ashland, Coal Grove, and Lawrence Co paid off.

Scotty I hear some people talking about Raceland getting into an Ohio conference with Ironton and others.Do you know anything about this or is it just talk?

That would be interesting if true. What schools are in the conference?

Portsmouth ,Ironton,Coal Grove,Chesapeake ,Fairland,South Point, and West P.Iam not real sure about the teams but the want 8 teams in it and it is a new conf. I think this would be great for the rams but idk how it would work. The would loss Ashland and G.C.and LC.I really don't care about the GC game but I like playing the other two.It would be a welcome change and some good competition and most games close to home.I for one would love it.
#75
That is interesting. Would that mean they would be in the Ohio football system or KHSAA. I would wonder how a team could be in 2 different conferences or districts.
#76
Not district conf.like the nekc. There used to be a ovc. That Ashland was part of years ago. This is just something I heard and wondered if anybody else had heard anything like
this or if it is just talk?
#77
I cant confirm or deny but had spoken w a coach from CG and know they were starting another conference, similar to the OVC.
#78
It's good to here the Raceland could put a end to Fairview's win streak!!!

There used to be a conference in 80's and early 90's that was called OKAC. It consisted of Ashland, Russell, Boyd Co. I think, Ironton, OH, Portsmouth, OH and a couple of other schools. From what I understand, the Kentucky schools played their conference schedule which did not affect their playoffs seeding, but they played in their district to earn playoff spot. IDK how it affected the Ohio schools.

I just try not to speak of things unless i know alot about it or know for certain. Sometimes in the past, i havent done so and it always bit me in the butt, so i try to keep my mouth shit until i know for sure. At this point, thats all i know. Yes i have heard talk of that, it was from a Coal Grove Asst Coach. How legit it is or how certain it is of it happening i do not know.

The other school in the OKAC WAS Greenup County. It was a great conference. Football basketball and baseball. The reason it closed was KHSAA realignment for football. Russell was placed in a 7 team district and could not continue to play everybody in the conference.

As someone who played in it though it was a lot of fun.

It has been talked about for about 4 years now, comes and goes with OHIO schools, they are limited on what weeks they play and they want quality teams to gain points from in football. I do know that other sports were also talked about but I have not heard anything for sure.
#85
The last word I heard was that the coaches would rather go play Johnson Central than go back to Ohio and play.

What is your guys thoughts on it.Would it be good or bad for the rams?Is it something you guys would like to see?Come on ram pride tell us what u think.

Yeah maybe Raceland can get themselves in position to win their first region, which Fairview did last year. Raceland is a standout team, I know in 2008 they were loaded, one of the best teams I seem Raceland have. Raceland has a very good football tradition I hope they can further that this year.
