Highlands At Cincinnati Elder 10/25
#1
The Birds travel across the creek to take on the Panthers of Elder. Elder is 6-2 with losses to Lakewood St. Edward and Moeller. Who ya got?? Could a mod please post a poll?

I'm just looking for anybody that can deliver a heavy dose of humility to Ft. Thomas! I was there for this game last year. Elder really pushed HHS around pretty hard but only won by 2 scores. I say 3 scores this year since it is at the Pit. Only competitive game HHS will play all year. Yawn!!!!

Heard that RB Elder has ran all over the Birds last year. He is a senior this year. The QB for Elder is the coaches son. Sure he has a high football IQ. I believe Lakewood St Edward is ranked fairly high nationally.
#4
Elder only beat Indianapolis Bishop Chatard by 7 points at home. Chatard is ranked 13th in Indiana and has an enrollment of only 730. If Highlands is really one of the top three teams in Kentucky, then they should be able to handle Elder this season.
#5
Highlands in a close one.
#6
Highlands offense is hitting on all cylinders and has a ton of weapons. They will put up some points. My concern is Highlands D being able to slow up Elders offense. I do believe most of players for Highlands are back from injuries which will help. I see elder winning in a close battle. If highlands is to win it will be from getting help from a good bend but not break game by defense. I would not be surprised to see a punt returned for a TD either if Elder kicks to return men.
#7
Only routing for Highlands cuz there NKY.
Stop the run, force young Ramsey into quick decisions and wear out there defense and the Cake Eaters will steal this one from the pit.
#8
Im with Hoot on this one.
If Highlands wants the mythical top spot in KY, then a big win over Elder is needed to prove that.

Rooting for the KY team, elder looks very impressive on paper, lets go birds, Dumb Question, what county is highlands in?

Highlands might be the underdog in this but I wouldn't count them out. They can win this one it will be one heck of a game I'll take the bluebirds 28-24 in this..

I would think that the state title is what the team wants. So this game wouldn't really matter that much. If anything, a loss might focus the team more.

Fans might want to claim a "mythical" spot.

Every game matters to Highlands players, they do not like to lose. It means a lot to NKY teams to do well when playing teams from the GCL.

I am a proud product of Cincinnati GLC, so I'm going with Elder.
#16
Both teams are real good.

Rooting for Highlands in this game.

Dont feed me that garbage. Were not on the team. Were fans that like to post and make stuff up. We dont have to be politcally correct or socially correct on here. If someone wants to talk about it they can. Hell, theres a 100 replies to the useless mountain top ten garbage every week.

Elder - 1036 (all male)
Highlands - 820 (coed)

Elder should win: big lines, a beast of a RB and a solid QB!

Their defensive depth will win it for them if they have it? The Birds are going to throw multiple receivers at them all game and maintain fresh legs. If Elder has DB depth, they'll be good if not this could be a fun one.

They'll need d-line depth as well to hang with the Bluebird "roving" pocket. If Houliston proves he can run well outside the pocket and get necessary clutch first downs the Birds may upset.

I'm going to be a NKY homer and root for a Bird upset. It doesn't happen too often against the GCL Confusednicker:.

Good luck Birds and good luck to all of us on BGR if they pull off the upset. We'll never hear the end of it for weeks Confusedhh:!

Whoa. Where did all that anger come from? The more I read on this forum the more it seems that people come here with a short fuse looking to get inflamed.

It's a simple post, really. The fans can discuss "top tens," "who's the best," "who will win," "who's better than who" all they want -- and can certainly spend all their waking hours doing so. (In fact, that's about half the threads in this forum.) The team is concentrating on winning a state championship. In pursuit of a state championship, it's much more important to learn to play a team like Elder than to score one more point than they do.

As long as Highlands scores at least one more point than Elder, it does not matter to me how they do it, I'll be happy.

GO BIRDS!!

In my best Phil Robertson voice: I'll be happy, happy, happy if the Birds win ,regardless of the margin.

Exactly, which is why I think this game is being greatly exaggerated. Highlands by three scores.
