Knox Central @ Corbin 11-1-2013

Thoughts??

Although I would love to see my panthers win this game. I honestly just can't see that happening with all the injuries we have. Just way too many players out. One or two might be able to play but it would be in the best interest of the team for them not to and try to heal up for the playoffs.

Although we are hurt and beat up I still look for the panthers to still put up a fight. They won't go down without giving it thier best shot!!!

Does Knox Central have a pretty good passing game? Can they stop the run? If they are effective in either of these two areas, they will have a good shot at winning. I expect Corbin to win by a TD or so, but it could go either way.

KC now down to 3rd option at QB. KC was going to struggle to move the ball against Corbin to start with, now they have no chance of scoring.

Just hope they can get healthy enough to have a shot in the playoff's.

With as many key players out for KC it will be hard to do much of anything against Corbin's defense. But on the defensive side of the ball KC will still be pretty strong.

Bell Co. only completed 1 pass, and that was when there was less than a minute left in the game. Corbin apparently forgot that they might pass and left the WR wide open. If Knox stacks the box and the LB's and DB's don't miss tackles, this game could end up just like the Bell Co. game.

Let's hope that KC's players can make it back in time for the playoffs or at least be close to full strength.

The team that is most physical will win this one. If Knox can find someone just to hand the ball off to Gist. I believe Knox will win.
This is a big game for both teams going into the playoffs. Could give the winner a little momentum.
#8
Is Gist healthy? He will be the key for the Panthers on offense.
#9
I have to pull for the Panthers. Good luck to both teams. Stay healthy for the playoffs.

He close to 100% but I wouldn't be surprised if he is held out for the playoff run.
#11
Without Gist it will be a long night for the Panthers.
#12
I am pulling for the panthers I pick them in my pick'em man this site has dry up.:welcome: Knox and Corbin fans :Cheerlead

Let me say this.....Corbin better win. If they don't will not go far. The fans will destory this team.

Will Corbin play waddle this week or will they set him another week? Heard he has a high ankle sprain.

I don't think they will play him, but then again, Coach Jewell doesn't ask for my advice.
#16
If Waddle doesnt play, Ill say Corbin by a TD.
If Waddle does play, I say Corbin by 3 TD's.
#17
I wouldn't expect Gist to play. IMO Knox will just let this game slip by. They have a pretty strong team in Mercer County to contend with in the 1st Round of the playoffs, and they have too many injuries to be very competitive against Corbin. So they really have nothing to gain.
#18
Knox just has too many injuries at important positions. I look for Corbin to handle them because of that. (and because Corbin has a good team..lol)
#19
How serious is Barger's injury??

If he has a high ankle sprain he may not make it back this year. This is one of the worst sports injures with recovery times of up to 6 months. I hope this isn't true. Does anyone know for sure?

Unless he was going to play QB Waddle is not a huge offensive threat, if you stop the Jet sweep they (which is not hard to do). Taylor can't throw it to him and he is not a great blocker. IMO powers is a better option as the 3rd back than Waddle. He is a excellent DB though.
#22
Barger has roundball on his mind. You may never see him in a football uniform again.

I believe that Barger will be in a football uniform next season but I believe he is done for this one. As far a b-ball goes not sure if he will play for the first couple weeks of the season.

Some think he will be back in the playoffs but I just don't see. I had the same thing a couple years ago and was off work for almost two months. A grade 2 separation doesn't heal all that fast.

Gist is a bigger loss than Waddle. He gets many more touches per game than Waddle.

Waddle is a huge offensive threat, just doesn't get the ball that much. Here are his stats.

He is averaging 10.6 yards per carry with 318 yards and 7 TD's on 30 attempts.
He is averaging 23.8 yards per catch with 238 yards and 3 TD's on 10 receptions.
He also has 2 TD's on punt returns.

He needs to come to Whitley County!! He will get a LOT more carries than that there!!!

Could not have said it better. Worst fans in the state.
#29
look for the panthers to pull out all the tricks in the bag this week. Something to keep Corbin off balance.
#30
With Knox Central having injuries in the backfield of both running backs quarterback Corbin Should have an easy time and I don't expect Taylor waddled to play for Corbin nor their star defensive lineman Harley Lambert although he's like 50-50 To play . Corbin by 30 or more
