Don't forget that the board chair is an assistant football coach. Am I the only one who finds this almost unthinkable?

Am I the only one who finds this almost unthinkable? It seems it at least would "appear" as a "conflict of interest" and at most....who knows? Seems like a textbook example of a reason for recusal and abstention from voting to ensure impartiality. "The truth shall set you free"

Absolutely correct, Leaping Lee. Fairview benefited greatly from "attracting" Rose Hill refugees- two starters for the Eagles including their leading scorer for multiple years and one multi-year starter for the Lady Eagles- scorer numero uno.
The two leading scorers and their families "moved" to apartments in Millseat Proper. Apartments in Millseat Proper are much in demand, don't you think? Of course, once they graduated, alleged "relocation" took place.
Why would anyone suggest "recruiting"? After all, KHSAA didn't have any interest at the time.

One of those leading scorers actually had an Ohio driver's license issued will living in Millseat. Is that normal?

A thing to note on the KHSAA scoreboard has Fairview, Raceland and Paintsville opponents for the playoffs listed as TBA.
10-29-2013, 08:41 PM
While there is attention to this I just wish the KHSAA would investigate Harlan Independent. This crap has gone on for years.

That has to do with a 3 way tie for 2nd or atleast a 2 way tie for 2nd in district 8. I dont think it has nething to do with the Fairview saga.

Did he actually live in Ohio?

Right again, Leaping Lee. Does anyone really wonder how that happened? Is Millseat, like Bristol, actually located in two states?

I think they call it a "matter of logistics".

Can someone list the facts so far of whats gone on. Not rumors! Not assumptions.
Like, has NATE McPeek resigned as of the end of the season?
How many kids for a fact left the team and or school?
Is it fact that a kid from the area of CK WVA left Fairview to back across the boarder?
Known facts only please!

Fact Nate McPeek has resigned effective at seasons end.
The kid rumored to have left FHS to go to Spring Valley was a rumor , as i myself have seen said player with my own eyes at school at FHS all week including today , & still practicing with FHS football team .
Since the start of the season FHS has lost 7 players only one of which was a starter , & only 2 switched schools of those 7

Fairview awaits KHSAA ruling
Staff report The Independent
WESTWOOD — The Kentucky High School Athletic Association confirmed on Tuesday that it received a letter from Fairview on Monday regarding an investigation pertaining to the possible ineligibility of a student-athlete who played for the football team last season and part of this season.
According to KHSAA commissioner Julian Tackett, the organization is currently reviewing all information.
Fairview school officials expect a ruling this week.
The school has acknowledged that sanctions could involve forfeits and a potential postseason ban.
If the Eagles are kept out of the playoffs, it would not affect this Friday’s game at Gamble Montessori in Cincinnati, said head coach Nathan McPeek.
McPeek has resigned, effective at season’s end.

Did the player in question play in any district games?
10-30-2013, 01:25 PM
I honestly don't know the first thing about the controversy surrounding the Fairview High School football program. However, I don know Bill Musick. I knew Coach Musick very well when he was the head football coach at tiny Evarts High School in the late 80s and early 90s. It would be very hard for me to believe that Bill Musick would intentionally do anything that was not completely above board. The Bill Musick that I knew was an intense, very hard working, no nonsense and completely above board coach.

No . He only played in the 1st 4 games of this season . Meaning he didnt play in the last 5 games . The last 3 were Fairview's district games hence no he didnt play in any of Fairview's district games this yr

Has anymore information emerged with this situation?

Hearing things...anyone got any news?
10-31-2013, 06:29 AM
If the player in question didn't play in district games I look for the KHSAA to forfeit games he played in and leave the seeding the same.
10-31-2013, 09:24 AM
^^^thats what SHOULD be done. Forfeit every game that he played in from the time he began releating the grade. I've also heard that they are looking into a couple other players elegibility. Some old players and some new. Last night, I was lead to believe that the KHSAA had made a recomendation or ruling of some sort. But have not yet seen that verified in black and white.

I also believe a post season ban is far too much of a punishment and not meritted.
10-31-2013, 11:18 AM
I think Pikeville gets a bye in the first round.

Any chance we hear anyyhing by tomm?

I expect forfeiture for a number of games and a post season, this is all based on the article in yesterday's paper, but I don't know if the ban would be this year or next.

Does the KHSAA have any precedent in this kind of infraction
