6A is wide open this year if no one could tell already. Rankings look good!
#3
Central Hardin is way too high. I would put Male at #3 instead.
#4
I would say Raceland, Pikeville, Frankfort could be drawn from a hat and the 4-6 spots couldnt be wrong. All of which, imo, could knock off a western top dog(which woukd make frankfort the western champ). It would take their absolute BEST game and some mistakes(rare by a MF or Rville), but I dont think the championship game will be a blow out this year. I think the east has enough tallent, skill, size and experience, to make things interesting.
#5
Thanks BGR, it's about time Pike Central gets just a little love.... Agreed, 10 is a good spot until they prove their worth on Friday nights. Pike Central has played a better schedule this year, and hope playing it allowed them to mature on the field. A big loss for this Hawk team was in the very first game against Henry Clay.....Marcus Johnson a heck of a RB, and the anchor on defense was loss to a knee injury, or the W vs L may have been more respectful...

The 6A rankings get worse each week. Somebody should invest a little more time comparing results against common opponents and strengths of schedules. If Central Hardin, Simon Kenton, or Butler win the 6A state title this season, I will adopt their mascot as my avatar for one year. The BGR 6A rankings make the AP poll look great - and that is not an easy thing to do.

Better get ready to be a SK fan.

So, if Trinity wins the title again, are you willing to adopt a shamrock for you avitar for a full year - or is your confidence in SK only superficial? Confusednicker:

What about the BGR football experts who voted Trinity into the #7 spot? Are any of you willing to put your avatars where your votes are? Do any of you really believe that all 6 of the teams ranked above Trinity have a better shot at a title than the 'Rocks. I am not a Trinity fan at all, but I find it entertaining that people let their hatred of a high school football team overcome their football brains. I have agreed to adopt a new avatar if any of three different teams that you have ranked above Trinity wins the title. Surely, one of you must be confident enough to do the same if the #7 ranked team wins the title. Confusednicker:

I am waiting on your response to my challenge, UK1fan. How sure are you that the #2 ranked team has a better shot at a title than the #7 ranked team? What have you got to lose?
#12
Frankfort should be higher. Raceland should be the highest 1a east seed. Paducah Tilghman should be higher since the will represent the west. McCracken should be higher since they will be in semis.
#13
Male should be #1 in 6a.
#14
Why should raceland be the highest 1a east seed? Because they beat a hollowed fairview team? …please! Pikeville and williamsburg should be one and two then raceland third in the east.

The 6A rankings have been really bad this year. All of the other classes are usually pretty good, but for some reason it seems like the voters just draw names out of a hat for 6A. They can't seriously believe the rankings they create.

I am definitely NOT a Trinity fan, I hope they lose every game, but I just don't see how they could be ranked that low. I don't know how in the world anyone could possibly think Central Hardin is the 3rd best team in 6A, and so much better than Male, Trinity, St. X, etc.

Got to agree with this. Not taking anything away from Raceland's victory over Fairview...good job. However the Eagles had to be somewhat distracted by the turmoil and chaos that was looming around them. There will be some that will strongly disagree, but when the Panthers and Rams paths do cross we will know.
#17
I can see Pikeville over Raceland...but not Wburg. All Wburg could do is munster up 14 pts in their losses. Both of which came in fairly good thumpings. Raceland is 4 pts away from being undefeated.
#18
I will say that I think Pikeville could give the Rams trouble. The Rams however are the best team in the east side.
#19
5a rankings = South Oldham like is said in week 0 is the team to watch. But don't get me wrong it's still BG's to lose.

6a is a crap shoot I am still on the fence if Trinity will steam roll to the title and there record just shows the competition or if this is a down enough year for Scott County, Male or Simon Kenton to pull it off...

Your welcome.

Get real Hoot, Rankings are based on what you do, not who you do it against. Tell me ANY RANKINGS that are not based on that? Any? Tuck your little heart and you common sense approach away and stick with the facts of how rankings have ALWAYS been done. Let me repeat A-L-W-A-Y-S!!!! You can cry and complain about it, which is the leberal way of thinking I guess, but facts are facts - What have you done lately......:biglmao:

Well, that was harsh. And he followed it up with 2 pages of pictures.
#24
1-5A are acceptable, but the 6A rankings look pretty bad in my opinion. Male and Trinity are way too low.
#25
Looks they are all SCARED of your wager Hoot? It is Halloween so I guess being scared is normal.
#26
Hoot, I would agree that Trinity and Male are too low.

It's a dumb wager. I doubt that anyone in their right mind doesn't think that Trinity is still the team to beat, but that has NOTHING to do with rankings and how they are contrived!

Umm, did anyone really think that the one loss Alabama was the #2 team in the nation last year when they faced the #1 ranked Notre Dame???? Notre Dame deserved the #1 ranking, but everyone knew they were not the #1 team!

Everyone can whine all they want about rankings, but it's what you did last week, not what you will do tomorrow! Everyone can feel at eased, the disrespected St. X and Trinity will get to prove themselves in the playoffs and reclaim their rightful spot at the top of all rankings list after they win the "Kentucky State High School Football Championship" Confusedhh:

Looking at 6a i could see Macracken county winning 6a they are leaps and bounds better now than at the first of the year.

No whining here. There have been many, many cases of NCAA teams going undefeated during the regular season, but because of their extremely weak schedule getting denied an opportunity to play for a national title. SOS matters. You know it, I know it, any knowledgeable football fan knows it - even the AP voters know it.

My challenge is not a dumb one. It was intended to demonstrate that those of you who voted to rank Trinity #7 know how ridiculous that ranking is. What would be dumb would be for anybody to accept the challenge. Whichever team emerges from Trinity's region will be the odds on favorite to win the title. I would give both Male and Trinity a 40%+ chance of winning the region. The three teams that I listed, your #2, #3, and #5 teams, combined chances of winning the title is somewhere south of 10%. I don't think that I will be getting a new avatar this season, yet you and the other voters are afraid to bet your avatar against your #7 team winning the state title. The 6A rankings are a joke. Watch my very sincere laugh. :biglmao:
#30
Well, there is no strength of schedule in Kentucky High School Football. So, since SOS would only be C-O-N-J-E-C-T-U-R-E, then we are right back to where we started with these rankings being 100% accurate!!!
