BelfryPride Wrote:That's the kicker...LC, although talented, just dont have the same skill personel to play like JC did. We did put up 28 on JC's defense. Keep in mind also that this is a completely different team than the one LC played the first time around and is basically 100% healthy minus X Willis. As I stated previously, LC kind of caught us with our pants down looking ahead to JC.
I think Haywood will have the Pirates focused this time around and they may look to make a statement. Will Belfry run up the score? No, there has not been a Belfry team to do that in the 28 years that Haywood has been captain of the ship.

Well, sure... that's part of what I was implying.

Let me put it another way. Lawrence Co. can run the football effectively as evidenced by the 265 yds they put on the Pirates in the first game (and also the 283 they put on my Blackcats).

The Bulldogs big bugaboo has been fumbling.

If both offenses run effectively and hold onto the ball, it comes down to no more than 8-10 possessions for each team - a SHORTENED game. If that happens, the game is likely to stay close. In a short game (both teams playing ball control) the value of each and every offensive set of downs is high which makes penalties and turnovers vital factors in the outcome.

Just wanting to make the point that Lawrence Co., if it holds onto the ball, has the ability to make this a close game regardless of the horses in the Belfry backfield. Now if the Pirates are kind enough to cough it up a few times, in addition, the possibility of an upset is real.

That being said, the majority of that yardage did not come against our starting defense. It was mostly in the second half against Freshmen and JV so I don't consider it. I'm not doubting that they'll roll into Pond Creek with guns blazing, but I think they come up short by 17-21 points

Well who did you all start against JC , varsity, Jv, freshman or maybe your eight grade.

What is your point. LC and JC are two completely different teams. LC varsity wouldn't have even scored on JC. Unless JC put in their 8th grade.

I herd that jc played their cheerleaders the 4th quarter against belfy and the pirates still could noy stop them!!!!

Belfry 56, Lawrence 14

1. Sani is not even the best qb in his own district let alone the regionhe would 3 after mac justice 1 and aj cyrus 2.

I agree with Mac being the better QB over Sani, but AJ, NO

2. Lc may have played the worst half of football they played all year in the 1st half at raceland. Raceland is always talking about who didn't play well lc had several starters out as well.

Everybody makes excuse when they lose.

3. Lc is just as talented at the skill positions as belfry. More talent on defense than belfry. First 11 on 11 players they are even its the next 75 players belfry can bring that will give u fits.

LC's skill positions compared to Belfry is like comparing mules to thoroughbreds. You say LC has more talent on defense, Confusednicker: you gave up 403 yards rushing and 35 points in that game :lame:

Ah your just jealous because they would have had them in on you all in the 2nd quarter.

The JC Cheerleaders could have played the entire game against Lawrence Co. and still won by a touchdown.
If LC ran their offense like 1% of their fanbase runs their mouth...they may be 11-0 right now instead of 7-5...oh my bad 8-4 due to a forfeit by a Class A school. BTW, Lawrence lost that game 35-21. I guess the refs gave them that game too.

Aj cyrus is limited only by the play calling of the offensive coordinator. Lc still runs the same offence it ran in 70's. He does not have the option of going thru reads to find the his best option he knows where it is going before they ever snap the ball if the receiver is not open that's just to bad he knows he better throw itanyway. because the offense is run this way goble, cyrus, Ferguson, and little face 8 and 9 men in the box about 95 percent of the time and still they have 3 of them over 1000 yards this season. Lc ran the effectively at belfy so you know its coming and still can't stop it. That takes talent. Belfry's backs are more a product of the system and not as much about talent that is why belfy is so consistent no matter who they put in they can get the job done because of the coaching and the system.

That is about the stupidest thing I have ever heard. "Belfry's backs are just a product of the system". Do you think teams that play Belfry don't load the box? I would bet my last dollar that every team Belfry plays has 8-10 in the box every down. Yet they still produce.

Do you think teams Belfry plays don't know what is coming? We all know, but you still have to stop it.

LC has a good core of RB's, but I would about guarantee Belfry's 4-6 backs are just as good. LC's top 3 are no comparison to Belfry's top 3.

As far as your first comment, AJ being limited by the play calling, I can agree with that. Do you think Sani is limited by Belfry's play calling? I can tell you he is. Put Sani in the same offense as a Pike Central or Williamsburg and I bet his stats would be just as good as those teams respected QB's.
