In all seriousness, I really do like the avatar!!
Never got to use it huh?

Oh yeah!! We used it. We actually were only down 1 point at halftime. We just didn't get to use it in the second half!!

How about talking about the game and ending the childish name calling and ad hominem attacks? The other thread was stupid and I would rather not see this one degenerate to the same level. If you are going to make a point in an argument or debate, name calling and attacking the other person, their spelling, their momma, etc simply implies that the attacker is not the most intelligent, not the person being attacked.
I will admit, however, when I saw "inbread" used instead of "inbred" as an insult in another thread recently, I did spit the drink I had just taken onto the computer screen.

I guess you shot the cannon once.

Oh, it was shot!!! I distinctly remember our running back ducking and rolling because he wasn't expecting the sound to be so close let alone all the damn feathers spewing out!!
nicker:
I will now take my leave Blau Vogel!! I feel so much better today, and was having fun with you guys and Bob Seger; but I do not want to ruffle any feathers.....especially blue ones.
Good luck tomorrow, and I hope everyone ends the game healthy!!

Isn't it funny how that usually occurs after the Highland faithful invade a thread (that generally has nothing to do with them), offering those great words of wisdom and telling everybody else how they ought to go about doing things?....... But, It's probably just a coincidence.

Like you invading this thread that has nothing to do with you?
BTW...it is Highlands, not Highland. I know how bad you feel when you make that kind of an error. Actually, it used to be Highland High School, in the City of the Highlands. That was before they built the fort. There is your Fort Thomas history lesson for the day.

First off, yes, I sure do appreciate the history info there twinkle toes.......and yes I do feel horrible right now that I didn't reverence the origin of the promised land properly...I think what I'll do is print it off, and make a special use of it the next time I make a visit to that special room in the house that you grow to appreciate more and more the older you get......And I cant help but ask this. A comment that I made to Hoot in another thread I will also make to you Bob, be careful that you do not become what you despise. The complaining about Highlands fans followed by attacks on Highlands fans, especially fans like sstack, Blau Vogel, charlie22 and others who do not engage in the behavior you dislike, until you provoke them, makes you come across sounding like Wideright and the others you dislike. Similarly, complaining about fans on the other site, when those fans are not posting on this site, also comes across poorly. Stereotyping, whether it be Highlands fans or people from the mountains, is a disservice to all.
Personally, I wish JC had won as it would have been an interesting game. I congratulate them on their season and hard work and wish them the best of luck for next year.
Now let's talk about tomorrow's game please?

Not one iota....I have tried hard to be friends with one of the ones that you mentioned. But after cordial PM exchanges, I commonly find a knife stuck in my back in the very next post. I have washed my hands with that backstabbing "bird" by the way.

I'll give you a little history lesson myself FB. I worked in Houston during the early 1980's oil boom...The state of Texas was invaded by northern folk (they called them Yankees, BTW) that were casualties of the very poor ecomomy in the industrial belt during that time .....A popular bumper sticker in the area at that time went something like this, "We don't care how you did it up there". Do you follow my drift here, and does any of that ring a bell? It sure rings a familiar worn out ring to everyone else out side of that wonderous Golden Triangle, I can tell you that...

This is great to know since as long as you don't care how we do it up here, and you continue to do it the way you do it down there, the last two or three weeks of the playoffs will continue to be off limits to you.

If it rains. Highlands offensive line averages 265 lbs. With 3 good running backs

I just use them were they are the most applicable there, little buddy..For some reason they usually seem to fit to a "T"...Go figger, huh!!.Evidently you have not been paying much attention all day long....Go back and do a little rereading and you'll see that apparently you've been in your own private little lala land, if you think a new product has just hit the shelves. :eyeroll:

And that's "We?" Do you play in any of the games going on? I don't and I doubt that you do either. I assume that you are just basking in the glory of what these kids do...There's probably nothing that you are doing yourself to pat yourself on the back about concerning whatever success that the football team achieves..

He has become what he hates. He has the thinnest skin and gets his feelings hurt easier than anyone else here. His ad hominem attacks cover up his lack of intellectual ability to discuss high school football.

Blau, you honestly wouldn't know mad if it slapped you in the face... There has only been one poster on here that I have genuinely been mad at, and that was a fellow JC poster, and I promise you that was no act...I have toyed and played you and a few of your buddies like a drum for almost 2 weeks now and you just cant figure it out.....There honestly is no challenge to yanking your chain.

charlie22 Wrote:Folks better start factoring the weather Friday night into their predictions. Highlands has an exceptional passing game but rain and wind are not friends to the passing game. Couple that with a much healthier CovCath team than the first go round and I see a close game looming Friday night.
Our running game is highly overlooked and will carry us well. We have some solid runners, but utilizing the passing game has always been a trademark of Coach Mueller. Looking at recent years though, he runs it a lot more as he gets deeper in the playoffs. I still think Johnson Central would have given us a better run, Matney knows this team very well and his style of ball has worked well against us at times in the past. Cov Cath has already played Highlands once and deep down wants nothing more to do with the Bluebirds. I expect a running clock no later than early in the fourth quarter.

I direct your attention to last year. We blew out CovCath in the regular season and really, really struggled against them in the playoffs.
