Who wins by how much and why?

I would love to see the jumpers get the win, but I don't see that happening.

I think this is the year Somerset gets over Newport central catholic. They've got 18 good seniors an they gave Newport a good game last year. Also not to mention I think Somerset's #1 running back should return for this game. He's been out with an injury since the Danville game. With all that said ill take the jumpers in a close one Jumpers 22 Thoroughbreds 20. Somerset moves on to State finally.

^Sorry, but it ain't going to turn out like that. NCC defense will shut down the bunnies. NCC offense finally getting it right both running and throwing the ball. Too many options on offense to key on 1 player. Once NCC gets up, Somerset will become one dimensional and that will be that. Looooong bus ride home for runner up.

Another NCC/Somerset playoff game, seems like this has been going on since I was in school. I'll take NCC by 10. There regular season schedule is a gauntlet for a 2A school.

Have you seen Somerset's regular season schedule? If NCCs is tougher then hats off but i highly doubt it. The regular season strength of schedule and the loss of key players through it helped develop other players. I look for Somerset to squeak by the same way they have been doing each and every week these playoffs.
Somerset 24
NCC 21

Somerset... They've had a hard fough way to get here and I think they keep it up...

Sorry, but you should check the schedule. Two of NCC's opponents were still playing last night. Overall poll of top 25 teams in the state listed 5 of NCC's opponents. Oh, and injury's, NCC has had their share and doesn't make excuses for it. Fact of the matter, Somerset doesn't have a winning record if they are playing NKY teams

NCC did not beat 1 Team that Somerset could not beat. This Game will be a Great HS Football Game. Think Jumpers get over hump!!!
11-23-2013, 10:17 AM
Not sure you would have beat Ashland or beechwood, sorry. The one loss we have we really could've won, was cooper. Doesn't matter now though. No issue at all with the fact you guys would easily beat our other district teams. Your district is way better than ours. However, the last three 2A state titles have come from this district.....hmmm, very interesting.

Hoping for a Somerset vs DeSales final.

Go Bunnies!

The Breds advance thanks to the bruiser regular season schedule! Unlike Trinity this parochial will move on to the championship this season!

No way we can prove, who could beat who. I don't see where Ashland or Beechwood beat anyone other than Ashland beating 1A Raceland. This will be a Good High School Football Game.

Somerset's Early Schedule is not chopped liver, 5A Pulaski Co. 13-0, 3A Belfry 12-1, 1A Hazard 11-2, 2A Glasgow 10-2. No way to say NCC early schedule was any tougher than This. It will all pan out next Friday night.

Stack your stats any way you want, truth be told the wins these teams accumulated were against mediocre to bad teams. Pulaski Co is the toughest team you played all year and they are legit, but Bowling Green is the top dog in 5a. I love the passion the Somerset people have for their team but it looks as though the arrogance of the preseason threads is starting to show again. The best team doesn't always win as proof of last years game, you just have to get hot at the right time.

You've got to be kidding me if NCC wins 2A again. Someone needs to put them away. Hope to see Somerset pull it out!

So Glasgow is mediocre 10-2 and lost to DeSales by 7 after leading by 14 with 5 min to go. OK OK we will see Friday and if NCC win's I'll pull for them against anyone who comes out of West . I just think this will be a good Game.

Yes it will. Safe travels and if you come up early and are looking for a good place to eat close to the field, go to Buckhead in Bellevue. Less than a half mile from Newports stadium. Also have a Hooters and Joes Crab Shack nearby to choose from .

Just fans stating what they thought was possible for their team. I don't know anyone that doesn't think that NCC shouldn't be the favorite in this game, but just because Somerset fans don't want to rollover and play dead don't think of it as arrogance...just standing by our team.
Most of the pre-season talk and many of the predictions being made now are not being made by hometown Somerset fans, just fans from around the area showing support for another local team.
NCC is the Class of 2A, they IMO are the most complete team on both sides of the ball. Somerset needs to play their best and especially most consistent game of the season next week. NCC will probably be the third best team we have played this season, unfortunately for us we lost the other two.
I don't know anyone in this area that doesn't respect NCC for what they have done and accomplished over the years. If NCC fans continue to not respect Somerset that is fine, Respect is Earned not Given...if Somerset want's respect from up north they have to go and earn it.
Good Luck to both teams and I'll be pulling for the winner of this game either way in the finals.

i absolutely respect this team. i have said since last year, somerset was the more talented team last season. a few bad apples cost them that game. i won't go over what was said or the actions that were seen. i haven't seen somerset play this season. they have certainly had the tougher road through the playoffs. this will be a battle, that is for sure.

I'm sorry I just don't see too many teams being as battle tested as Somerset. Not just there brutal non district schedule but just how they fight every week I've watched them play. They've found the right time to turn it up every week so far in the playoffs. I just think if its close at the end of the game no other team has been better at getting it done than Somerset.

I will pick against Somerset yet again to keep it going. But, let's just say I also believe in 30-year cycles.
