That 4.39 won't mean much when he's laying on his back and looking for the license plate # on that truck that just ran him over. :yum:

He lives right on the Ky side of the river...so almost a west virginian..lol....I'd take a state runner up to a region runner up anyday....everybody does give us a hard time for not being able to get past the central hump...so I guess you guys know how that feels because your not gonna be able to get past the Belfry hump...

I dont know what a dumba $$ is, but there is no one on your team faster than our fastest guy. Your boy up there watched film so ask him. Im still not sure why Belfry fans are so passionate aboit such a mediocre program. If Dudley Hilton coached Belfry you would have 5 or 6 more rings, but he doesnt and you dont. Like I said yesterday, you have 2 more rings than Shelby Valley. Think about it....

Easy there.... if we are comparing rosters and which team has more players who were not beginning their Freshman year at respective schools then that is not a debate you want to get into.

Gonna take Coach Hodge and Bourbon County boys. Good luck to all the Boyle Co guys on the Bourbon staff. Great bunch of guys!

Mediocre!!! You have lost your mind. Must suck for you all to come in second to a mediocre team.

David Jones played for Belfry.. he ran a legit 4.4
Johnson does not have David Jones speed.
Johnson runs probably a legit 4.5... my guess is probably a 4.55 is his true time.
FWIW, he will be the fastest player on the field...but he was also the fastest player on the field last year and all that speed gave him was 4 catches for 18 yards. Speed doesn't mean anything if you can't get open or can't get in the open field to use it.
Cam Cheuvront from Somerset is every bit as fast as Johnson... even he only managed 9 catches for 58 yards.. just around 6.5 yards per reception.

Here's what I don't understand...it's like Belfry fans are talking like Bourbon doesn't know what Belfry brings to the table. I'm sure the players remember Warren, Hatfield, and Carr from last year. I believe Sani is a better defensive player than QB, you don't hear about many QB's who can lay the wood. The physicality element won't be a big of a factor as many think, because Bourbon expects it now. Just my two cents

From a different state? I think we are safe there...

This is all fun and games boys!!!! No need to take it so personal. Just having a little fun. In all seriousness it will be a great game and I hope it is injury free for both teams and safe travels. All kids on both teams worked hard to get to this point.

Pope- Nicholas County
Johnson- Lafayette
There is not a single Pirate player I am aware of that did not begin his Freshman year at Belfry.
To cast stones about "home grown" talent is not an argument a Colonel would wish to enter.

You are fighting a different fight. You are talking about transfers the other gus are talking about kids who were born and raised in WV, which I believe is a different state. See Fairview for an example of what happens when they catch on to you.

It goes both ways. Bourbon fans are acting like Belfry has never seen athletes like Bourbon has .
What it comes down to is Bourbon has never seen the Belfry offense the way it is with Dari and Johnson in that backfield (both were injured last year)... Belfry has not seen a Bourbon offense with a Holman kid who appears to me to be a much better fit at RB for Bourbon's system than Hopkins.
Both teams know very well what they can expect to see from the other... one team has played teams throughout the year who give them a taste of what to expect... the other really played no one that comes close to emulating their opponent.
Right now there is a lot of smoke blowing.. but the real factors that will determine this game are being glossed over.
- Can Belfry tackle? I have no doubt the Pirates will be in position all night to make the plays.. but tackling has been the single biggest issue they have had all season. A missed tackle versuses Bourbon is 6 points.
- Will Bourbon's depth hurt them? More than anything last year it wasn't Belfry's true physicality that beat Bourbon... it was the fact there was 4 quarters of it on both sides of the ball. It was 14-10 at the Half..but Belfry had the Colonels looking for oxygen masks in the 2nd Half. Bourbon plays numerous players more on both sides of the ball than Belfry and don't rotate as nearly as frequently as Belfry. If Belfry is able to control the tempo will Bourbon fade in the 2nd Half again?
- Is Pope healthy? I have said before and will say again that if Bourbon is one dimensional then Belfry will win..but if Bourbon shows balance and can hurt Belfry with the legs of Pope and Holman then I think Bourbon has the upper hand on offense. Playing hurt won't help Bourbon if Pope is struggling with mobility and not a threat with his legs.. when there is a lone threat running the ball then Belfry is borderline dominant and there pass defense typically is good enough to play soft and get stops when they need them.
- Is Belfry's defense fools gold or is this what they have been looking for all year? Lawrence and PC are not great teams...not even close to the level of Bourbon.. but they do have very good 3A offenses. Both put up huge numbers all season and had multiple quality weapons and hurt Belfry in the regular season. Since making the big changes Belfry's defense absolutely shut down both teams in the span of a few weeks. Was this the product of familiarity or the product of a defense that finally has found it's mojo?
I said it in the build-up and will say it again...I think Bourbon enters as the slight favorite...especially at home... but those questions above will make a major difference in how this game plays out.

Usually you appear to have a good comprehension of football...this post may be one of the worst you have ever posted. You can do better than a flame like that man.
1. In general there is no difference in the eyes of the KHSAA. If a kid transfers 15 miles from Lexington to Paris or a kid transfers 5 miles from Williamson to Belfry... the process is still the same.
2. It is a moot point anyways since Belfry doesn't have transfers. I can't speak with certainty, but my inclination is there is not a single player on Belfry's roster who not only has been at Belfry their entire HS career..but also attended Belfry Middle School.
3. Fairview was in trouble for a kid who transferred from another KY school and was held back and played 5 years in HS.. had nothing to do with transfers from out of state in the KHSAA eyes..and even if it did... Fairview's critiques from other schools were players who transferred during their HS career..once again...not a single player from Belfry meets that criteria. You ever figure out what position the kid from Scott County plays that transferred this year?

Well Johnson sat out his sophomore year. So there is nothing on that. He was here before coach hodge.

I didn't say there was.. just saying the 2013 Bourbon County team has benefitted exponentially more from transfers than the 2013 Belfry Pirates.
