Jared Lake from Rockcastle County will continue his football career with Washington University in St. Louis. He is an unweighted 4.0 student and a candidate for class valedictorian/salutorian at Rockcastle. Washington University is the #14 overall academic institution in the United States and Jared just found out he was accepted there early decision. Jared will be attempting a degree in chemical engineering and joining his brother, Ben, on the football team. Washington University made the NCAA III playoffs this past season after an 8-2 mark which included a win against Centre College in Danville, Kentucky. Washington will play at Centre this coming fall again on September 27th. Jared was also being considered by Case Western University in Cleveland, Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Brown University in Providence, Cornell University in New York and several other colleges across the nation. We are very proud of the kid at Rockcastle. We know he was nominated for the KY-TN Border Bowl and hopefully he'll get a chance to play one more high school game before college.

He was a good player, by far the best lineman this year on the team.
