#1
richmondrsports.now and wkyt has released it on twitter Chuck Smith is coming back to Boyle county, and Mark Centers is the new coach at Madison Central.
#2
Wow so this confirms the rumors. Chuck Smith is back! Great to hear!
#3
Wow. 3A was going to be really good in the new alignment....it just got really interesting.
#4
Matt Jones just announced it on KSR.
#5
I guess that is great for Boyle, MC I feel bad for. Nobody has a problem with this?
#6
Guys I've known since Wednesday that this was possibly going to happen, but I didn't want to say anything and look like an idiot if things didn't work out.

Sounds like you are getting as much work done as I am.....

Of course I have no problem with it, but what blows my mind is that MC has already hired Mark Centers from Garrard as the new coach.

Not getting anything done who cares its Friday.

Like I said congrats to Boyle. MC may have known for awhile. I don't know what happened here. My point is, I take a man for his word. I will leave it at that and best of luck to both.

I'm in the same boat as you guys. KSR and the Kentucky high school coaching carousel is all I look forward to on Fridays.

As the world turns.

It was on 18 news a few minutes ago good news travels fast.

It stinks for it to happen like it did for MC, but Chuck Smith has to do what he feels is in his best interest and what makes him the happiest. I have no problem with it.

With all the coaching changes this year, it is funny that Ryle (one of the first to fire their coach) has had very little going on with making a hire and seems to really be dragging their feet on naming a replacement.

Congrats boyle great hire chuck has come home.

Awesome!

I'm a big believer in doing what is best for yourself and making yourself happy. He did what was best for himself. Can you blame a man for taking a job that will make him happy? So no I have no problem with it. I will say that it surprised me.

I second this. I was surprised of the hire but MC is getting a great coach regardless.

I wonder how many Boyle fans would feel that way if that had been done to them?

I understand your frustration. However, it was not done to the Boyle County fans. I really do feel for Madison Central and I'm sure there is a lot of frustration coming out of Richmond but the man did what was best for him.
#22
I am not frustrated, just a little shocked. Just did not think that he would do that. Best of luck to Boyle and MC. Wish both programs great success, unless we play them.
#23
This is no criticism at all, but I just wonder if you take away Chuck Smith's 5 titles and his stint at UK coaching two LB's playing in the Super Bowl this Sunday if people would be on here bashing him for doing this? I think they would.
#24
If any coach had done this I would be shocked. I am not bashing him. I am the only one that has questioned the move. Best of luck to all.

Smith has taken care of Smith. Boyle County fans are happy. It just happened the way it happened and it is a shame that Smith did it to Madison Central. What he did wasn't exactly right. With the hiring process just happening, I guess they can justify the quick hire at Central. Scenters is a good solid young coach and I think he will do fine by Madison Central. Madison Central was fortunate that Mark was in the wings wanting the job still. Hopefully the administration will stand behind him in Richmond. Smith will probably do well at Boyle in 3A. It all worked out for everyone...... Except at Garrard County who is the odd team out and coachless late in the off season.
#26
There are home run hires.....

....

... then there are walk off grand slam with two outs trailing by 3 hires....

I guess the question that has to be answered is how long Smith plans to coach or will he start looking towards retirement when his state pension kicks in. Otherwise, absolutely no denying that Boyle County has to be on Cloud 9 and excited for the future.

Like you, I feel for Madison Central but I really feel for Garrard County.

2 linebackers and 1 tight end to be precise. But you may be right. He is an accomplished coach with an impressive resume.

Best of luck to both teams
