Dave Mitchell may have not been the best HC but since 1990 he won more playoff games than Whitley, Williamsburg, North and South Laurel and Knox Central combined until we went to 6 Classes. So he may have not been the best but he has done more with less than anyone in our area and done it for a long period of time

Dave going to be an asst at Whitley? Hearing he is not coaching at PCC anymore.

Perry homer here, haven't heard this yet. If so, then that sucks for us, I was a big fan of Coach Mitchell this year, but I wish him nothing but the best wherever he ends up coaching.

I think Chappell has filled out his entire staff now. I don't know if there will be a release of who is on the staff or they will just let everyone figure it out as time goes on. It is an impressive staff though

I know I helped him win one of them!! I can tell by your name u like his style of play!! He's a great guy and everyone I played with at Lynn camp thought a lot of him. He was like a father figure for all of us!! That's something Corbin needs, Jewell is the polar opposite he has no relationship with his kids.

A coach loses a lot of respect from this kind of thing.
What are you talking about?!?!?!?
Whitley DID abide by it. They paid the 4000 to get out. If Boyle didn't want to have an option to get out, they could have stipulated it in the contract.
I highly doubt there are many, if any coaches in this state who cares about other coaches respect. The only thing that Chappell has to worry about it Whitley County football.

I can tell you one thing. There are kids who played for Mitchell at LC that would have died for the guy. I promise you that. I think hes much better suited as an assistant without the hassles.
I also heard Whitley picked up another really good coach.

Coach Chappell had nothing to do with schedule change.....COMPLETELY administration.

If not for the Campbell situation, I believe youd see the same schedule.

Will Frazier go with Chappell to Whitley ?
03-03-2014, 10:57 AM
Nope.
Whitley will have a few of the holdovers from Jim's staff in addition to Mitchell and the McDaniel guy that helped Chappell at SL. Also heard 1 of the teachers in building that helped Benji will be back on staff. Not many jobs to bring in new asst. coaches so they will have to make the most of who is around.

So you must be David Mitchell? You didn't have any problem throwing his name out there so it was your place to drop his name? It's not a secret whose on staff.

Ill be completely honest with you, I don't have a clue. You'll have to look elsewhere for answers than what I know. Most of the people im closely associated with have dropped the program and are no longer apart of it.
Doesn't surprise me. When I hear names, I usually know them and can find out same day if its true or not, and usually get the right answer, but its not common knowledge to me like it use to be. Same goes for scheduling. Ive never met Chappell in my life so its not like I know what hes up to. Hopefully some others can give answers.
We'll see how it all plays out. As Ive said before, ill leave my judgment until after the season begins, but lets just say I wont be shocked to see a bad year.

Jason is a great guy and a hard worker. He will do fine just give him support and some time. Good luck Coach.

Ive stayed away from the board while seeing this mess unfold.
Im excited for a change in direction, it simply wasn't working the other way around.
All Ill say is good luck.

Jason will win if Whitley has any talent you have to have the horses up front to win, Whitley will score points if the talent is there.

Getting out of a contract is really no big deal as long as you make sure you have your replacement game locked up. I would not want to be in the situation of looking for a game at this point in the season.
03-17-2014, 12:07 PM
They already have the replacement games. Whitley County has a full schedule.
03-17-2014, 12:10 PM
who did they pick up?

insideinfo Wrote:Who are they trying to schedule. If you schedule to weak I think it just as bad or worse than scheduling to hard.
No way!! It never hurts to build some confidence and not every game needs to be against quality opponents to be succesful. They will still play Madison Southern next year. I am sure nobody they are picking up will be gimme wins. Nobody wants to sign a 1 year contract and loose. People make way to much about schedules.

Williamsburg does not have an open date that matches with Whitley. So offering Williamsburg would be pointless.
