Harlan County 2014
Congratulations to Hunter Lewis for his first place trophy in the 300 lb weight clean division!!

Also, the Black Bear team placing second in the over all competition.

Lord, is it August yet???
Who will be their QB?
It will either be Senior Ford who would do a great job or maybe even Freshman Branson who is going to be special. But I don't coach so that is just a fan with his two cents worth.
Jarrett Ford is a junior, I think. He's the probable starter if he sticks with it.
Jacob Branson looks like he is going to be very good. He had a great eighth-grade season for New Harlan.
Another fans perspective is that Fred Massey could see some time under center.
I have heard some minor rumblings that Coach Tim Saylor is itching to get back on the sidelines. I haven't heard where, but if the current coach retires, it would be hard to find a better man to coach the Bears.

None of the football coaches at HC are retiring. Maybe it was basketball you heard about???
That is a rumor that has been around for a longtime. I don't think any of the fans want that to happen. Larkey is a better coach than Tim ever was, although he did have some sucess. It may have been Tim's plan to have Larkey build it up and him take it over but it will not happen.
Ive heard some rumblings that RunItUpTheGut may be moving to Harlan County. Black bear mamas....contain yourselves please.
I keep hearing great things about this off-season. I would like to know if the numbers are still in the 90's in the weight room. Anybody?

Mama, I did not hear that any coach was retiring. I stated that I heard that a legendary coach who has been away from the sidelines for several years is interested in getting back into the game.
Well, I thought a car was passing by my house with their speakers on really really high....you that dum dum dum dum noise! LOL Nope. Aaron & Baby Zak have this tire and I swear it's 8 feet in diameter. They were beating it to death with a sledge hammer. Then they flipped it all over the yard. Then they ran around orange cones, and jumped in the middle of that tire and back out again. I'm not sure what their goal was, but you can tell at my house, that football season is just around the corner!!

Well, in all actuality SUR, I will be transferring to Williamsburg. Aaron, the middle son, will be playing for Cumberland College. I know it's isn't called that anymore, but when I went there, it was! Smile

Mine too. No kidding.
Hope to see you there Granny Bear. Harlan County boy at the helm of the Patriots. Coach Rhymer is a class act.
Coach Rhymer was a major factor in his decision. Aaron is a super kid, and his dedication is unmatched. I think it will be a great combination.

Is it okay with the crowd if we bring our cow bells?????
Please do. Love a little enthusiasm.
Coach Rhymer is a class act and Harlan County is proud of him!
Who took over the Whitley job?

I agree with you he could see some time under center at the Burg.

That's what I hear.
He would be a big loss for Black Bears.
A huge loss.
