Clay County 2014
#1
Hows things in the Tiger locker room, how many wins can we expect. Someone in the know give us a breakdown.
#2
I have no clue I will ask around. Everybody still talking basketball in clay :HitWall:
#3
clay will not share their athletes, what I saw on the basketball floor would make them a contender on the field if they decided not to go to the nbaConfusednicker:

Allen and House didn't play at North. Wolfe has played football in the past and is very good receiver. Logan Gabbard and Byron Allen play also.

I wonder what kind of football player Farmer would make, I could see him playing QB.

heck with his size he could play a lot of positions TE, DE, MLB, TACKLE, and yes even QB. Farmer has perfect size to play at the next level in football.

How many players do we have lifting now and getting ready for spring ball? I know some players are playing baseball and a lot of players quit last year.
#8
I think the tigers will win 3-5 games. They need to greatly improve their play on the offensive side of the ball(QB). They were hard to watch at times last year. Just couldnt score.
#9
When is spring ball? Is it open to the public to come watch practice?
#10
Nobody in clay county is talking about football every time I bring it up everybody wants to talk about basketball....Clay fans need to support football like they do basketball... just saying. :pondering:

Numbers always drop by the time the season begins but, right now it looks like a roster approaching 60 players. The weight room has more enthusiasm than in several years. Things are looking good right now, gotta keep em on the team though.

We might be worrying about "sharing" players too much. In my opinion 99% of the Kids that want to play, play. And I do agree that Farmer and House would be very good football players...if they don't play it's probably because they don't want to.

That is awesome! The program is moving in the right direction. A few years ago we had over 15 Sr's and had an alright season because of the injury bug but numbers help. If we have that many players now "we should" start the season with at least 45.
#13
The numbers game can be deceptive. You can have 75 in program but if only 5 can play, then it really isn't much help. Look good warming up, though.
#14
If I have a lot of upperclassman to choose from. You win more than you lose. Esp, if they have been in the weight room the last three years.
#15
Numbers are a great indicator of interest, but if they can't contribute on the field numbers can be deceiving. Upperclassmen are important, especially if they are contributors.
#16
It shouldn't be hard to teach the game to someone who puts the work in to get better.. However, I agree numbers can be tricky but it is a start. Hopefully, this will be the year we can get back on track. If not, will Coach E be on the hot seat? If not E then daddy Wayne?
#17
Numbers can be tricky, and they can also be very honest. 100 guys don't equal 1 player. Carr and Reid deserve some help out there. You cant make me believe that Clay being a 4A school that there shouldn't be more than 25-30 guys dressed to finish the season. Hopefully SkinnyPig is truthful on the 60 guys.
#18
A lot of times big numbers also mean a lot of Cheesburger eaters....
#19
How many starters on off and defense are returning? What is our schedule?

See Steve Jewell and Corbin. Huge numbers but no that many football players.

I think clay and bell are "scrimmaging" in the grid again?

Can anyone tell us who we play this year?
#22
Everything is quite in Manchester about the football team. Can someone in the know spread some news for us. I feel this will be a great year for our program.
#23
I work in clay county and I support clay county football. :Cheerlead
#24
Who are the Clay Co. assistant coaches? Is there a reason to believe the outcome/record will be different than last year?
#25
Will clay pass more this season or run more.

I'm hearing they are going to run the ball, play a power game. Also heard they moved last year qb to tight end in preparation for the power running game. This will be interesting, don't see much success for them in 2014.

I think moving last year's Qb to tightend is a great move. I disagree that this year will not be successful. I was told the other day that we are returning a lot of kids on both sides of the ball and we should compete more this year than the last two years.
