Justin Haddix new head coach at Corbin

RunItUpTheGut Wrote:I tend to lean on the fence on this one.

I can see why so man are excited by the prospects of a new direction, with a young coach who obviously knows football, and more importantly that the players will probably like.
However, I can also see the other side. Even though it was Perry, where football seems to come in a distant second and the talent may not be what it will be at Corbin, he still had a rough time getting anything consistent going.

Only time will tell which is right, and im not even going to begin to guess.
Hopefully, this is a great sign for a Corbin/Whitley game though. I know Chapman will play Corbin, and Haddix has been playing Whitley ever since he first became a coach. I think as long as both Administration are okay with it, it will happen. Jewell was the only thing stopping it before.

Make it happen.
Anyone know Corbins schedule for this season?

Pulaski, SW Pulaski, South Laurel, Danville, Knox Central are non-district. They played Trimble Co. last year but had heard they picked up someone to replace them???? Not 100% sure on that.

Wayne
Bell
Casey
McCreary are district games

After looking at his record, IMO the win over N Laurel last year was his biggest in four years. I honestly thought there were a couple other better choices. I was actually expecting a shocker but I'm eating crow tonight. Don't get me wrong, I'm excited for the change at Corbin and I want Haddix to do great. The smartest thing he can do is run Farris off on day one. If he does that then he'll be successful. Good luck coach Haddix I wish you the best.
If you every work with the guy or see some of the things he does with an offense, you will be glad you have him and that he's not coaching at the college level somewhere.

I dont see SW Pulaski, South Laurel, Danville, Casey, or McCreary beating Corbin. I look for Haddix to have sweet revenge against Pulaski. Wayne looses a great group of seniors this year so Corbin should roll them. Not sure about Knox and Bell but I think Corbin will beat them as well. Haddix could have a special year. Better get ready to go to Pond Creek.
#36
Why would they go to Pond Creek? Corbin is in the West Semi-state if that is what you meant.

SW Pulaski played Corbin very close last year and will be vastly improved with French as HC. I am afraid Pulaski will be way too much for the pups, they are loaded. They may beat Knox and should, but Bell will be a little tougher job to handle.

Wayne had over 70 players and return 21 JR's so I dont think it will be that easy!

Sorry didnt know Wayne had so many good Jrs. Sorry. Haddix will add some spice to the Corbin Offense though. They will put up some points. I wonder what PCC players will go with Haddix to Corbin if any?
#39
Has WYMT done a story on this yet? Would love to see one.
#40
Don't see Perry players going that for to play for their coach. If it was basketball maybe but not football.
#41
The good thing about leaving Perry to go to Corbin is he gets to keep his red coaching attire.

TopCat Wrote:Nah Greer will Coach the defense. It is time for the Corbin, Bell and Whitley cycle to begin again.

Who will be the defensive coordinator? I have heard that Greer may be in the mix to do it, also one other name not currently on the staff.
#43
Wouldnt be surprised to see Mitchells Missles firing again on defense for Haddix.
#44
Mitchell will be stayin at Whitley
#45
Hope he got a good defensive coach because it will be shootouts, Corbin will see a lot of passing under Haddix wide outs better be ready to catch and run
#46
There is a dandy, wait and see.......

0, they're staying home. If we lose any players, it will be to little brother across town.

I thought Haddix was scheduling Belfry! He's on guy that would. Either way, when Belfry goes to Bowling Green it turns into Pond Creek!

Haddix better be getting ready for CENTRAL. Belfry is the least of his worries.

Better worry about a team called BELL CO too. Last time I checked Bell owned Corbin

Yeaaaaa, no. Honestly, I don't know why you'd transfer to Leslie or Knott to play football.

Yea, I might, but it still doesn't make any sense to do that.
