im reading alot about harlan and belfry both teams had great runs and my hat off to them both, but they lacked recovery from plays and they werent timed well at all. now thompson county on the other hand they play tight and can pass at the snap, i just dont see why for a small school noone else has heard of them or they dont have thier own thread, when the beat belfry, harlan and mayfield in 74 to 76

Well for teams lacking recovery and not timed very well, they went pretty far last year. Hmmmmm....let me think....oh yeah......Belfry actually won the State Championship Game!!! Harlan County overcame some major set backs to go pretty far in post season.
Apparently no one started a thread for Thompson County because no one cared about them. Since you do care, you need to start reporting for Thompson County!! It will be a great fresh thread for the Football Forum. FYI, I believe I would post from seasons that are NOT 40 years old. Most kids here can't remember 1974 as well as I can!!

thompson county is a small school in illinois but theyre team is almost undeafeted theyd make any ky team look like tag football and if belfry and theyre weak offense could meet up and harlan weak defense maybe just maybe they might score 1 point or possibly 2. in novemeber the open invatational to the tri state county. (thats if hs in ky passes it) thompson county can walk all over any team be it west ky central ky or east ky.

As literally every member on here knows, im no fan of the pass.
Contrary to popular beliefs, the old saying is wrong. Only three thing can happen when you throw the ball and two are bad is completely wrong. I believe all three are bad
nicker:
In all seriousness, you have to have a strong running game to set up a passing game IMHO. Especially when it comes to high school. Unless you have a team capable of having the speed to be a pass only team with 5 VERY good lineman up front, you have to establish a run game. Balanced attack is the way to go if you have the players capable of doing it. Ill always be 60/40 run at my most balanced point.

OR eastern Kentucky's home grown!
There is no Thompson County in Illinois. I was stupid enough to research it. Even maxpreps don't have you. Thompson Township is in Jo Daviess County IL and there is a Thomson, Illinois, but neither is listed in maxpreps.
So what is the name of that school that has groomed such terrific football players??

First of all, this is a site to talk sports and more, not just your school. I like Williamsburg and wish them well. Now, that Fred is there even more. But , when I click on a thread and want to read OR POST about another team it is about Williamsburg. I do post about the team in the thread, why don't you try it.

I am guessing they won't. Coach Larkey hasn't thrown it so what would change this season.

Coach Creech is having an effect more and more on the offense. It MAY bleed over into more passing, question is Qb and can we do that successfully. IDK we will see.
