It's amazing to me that a school with only about 200 total boys in the entire school can field a team with that many players. A lot of 5a and 6a teams don't dress that many. Granted, that # likely includes freshman, it's still impressive and bodes well for the future. I have noticed in the past 2-3 years, they've seemed to have less and less 2 way players.

Watched a practice this week and think we will be surprising a few folks.

Yes this year we will probably only have 4-5 play both ways. We also will have role players that will come in in certain situations to relieve the stress on the starters and prevent them getting overworked. This number does include freshmen but several of them are pressing the starters for some playing time. I have spoken with some of the coaching staff. They feel they have more depth than they have had in many years. They also say we have more team speed than we have had since 2010. I hear that they are very optimistic about this bunch.

Its only July 26 I been busy watching corbin 7 on 7. Only watch Williamsburg practice once...Have no ideal why Williamsburg don't play 7 on 7 :rockon:

The Milan scrimmage in on the 8th. The 15th is meet the Cardinal night. I think we are going to have an inter squad scrimmage soon.

I'd like to see that inter squad game. I doubt Arnett will face a tougher D all year, so, you'll get to see how he reacts and performs against a top notch D. It'll also test the secondary against some very good WRs.

You are correct. That is except for a few problems. One of our starting safeties is a wr. Both of our cb's are on offense. 1 or 2 of our linemen are off linemen as well.

Has anyone heard anything about the preseason rankings? I heard through the rumor mill that Mayfield was ranked #1 by all the voters. I heard that it was followed by Frankfort, Russellville, Beechwood and then Williamsburg. Can anyone confirm this?

I seen some rankings in a newspaper that were from kentucky preps, and thats how they have them ranked. I wouldnt put much stock in them. They didnt have mayfield at no 1 last year, and they gave no respect to the burg last year, as they had them behind alot of eastteams last year, i think they had beechwood at no 1 last year. Other notable rankings for this year for our area are caldwell at no 1, tilghman at no 4, and mccracken at no 5. No way mccracken should be in the top 5 at this point imo. I would have them around 9 or 10. Central hardin ,and meade county wasnt in there top 5.

McCracken returns a load. They are probably right on that. Caldwell should be #1 but they are subject to choke like last year.

I find them to be the most over confident team that has never accomplished anything. Even if they win it all this year, 1 title in the boyd/sindelar era isnt impressive, and they might not even get 1. The pressure is on, with this being there last chance for a few years. I always pull for the local teams in the playoffs, but the cockiness coming out of princeton has made them hard for me to pull for. They have a couple games on there schedule out of district that wont help them get better. They should have tried to get tilghman, and mccracken instead. I havent heard much about mayfield since the 7 on 7, how is the line looking. How does the 2 transfers look that you said were a lb, and wr, or was you just yanking 64s chain since the burg got like 5 transfers.

You are correct, I really like Sindelar and have always liked Caldwell but they are over the top with their antics on the field. I won't mention names but their are 1 or 2 receivers out there that would rather talk crap than play. I think it will bite them in the rear when the pads are on. They ticked off a few little red birds.

According to one of the coaches I talk to, they are looking great. The line is big, fast and experienced. We will be find there. The qb is still coming along nicely. Won't know a whole lot more until the 8th.

Man, I'm watching last years Fulton City game. That has to be the only team that we scored our first 3 touchdowns quicker than the burg. We scored our first 3 about half a minute quicker against the bulldogs than against the orange jackets.

I just pulled up the preseason rankings. It seems the voters are catching on. They have the top 4 in the west. They have it MHS, Frankfort, Russellville, Beechwood, Wburg. I don't think Russellville will stay in top 5 though. They lost their all everything qb and then some. I hope we can live up to the billing. I think Frankfort and Beechwood will be tough. I'm still expecting a dark horse to knock off the burg this year though. Surely that is not the best the east has to offer.

I just came from practice. We are big and we are fast this year. I had to get eyes on for myself. I am very pleased with what I saw from the first group to the third or even deeper. The good thing is that most of this talent will be here for a few more years.

They have an inter squad scrimmage on Mon at 6a. They then resume the regular in school practice schedule. Then they have the Milan scrimmage Fri.
