End zone looks good with the bleachers and maroon paint!

The Baker kid is just phenomenal, if that Tomcat line will hold their blocks for just a few seconds they will be in good shape with him.

Looks nice. One question though, stands look like they sit pretty low, how is the view of games from the stands?

Actually are higher then before, first row at least a foot higher

How many returning starters do Ashland returns on their offensive and defensive lines?
08-05-2014, 11:41 AM
That would be a question for T Cats, I think he said this years line would be the best that Ashland has had in 10 years on another thread. I sure hope he is right.

I sure hope he is right.I hope they are as good or better, they look good in PRACTICE, but we will find our very very soon. Talked to a Coach a week or 2 back, he told me he thinks it could be the best line they have had in a long time.

Ashland plays 4 defensive linemen and of those 4 Thompson, Rose, and Johnson for sure graduated. . Burgess, Thompson, Moore and Tyson Baker were starting offensive lineman they all graduated. I know I am missing some names. I would guess Broughton and Krueger are the only returning players with Varsity line experience. Add Gobel twins to that and after those 4 there is just not that much experience.

I believe they played for Boyd, Fairview and now Ashland. Talk about free agents.

an impact player has quit the team today. senior who has played a lot for the tomcats. this will hurt an already struggling defense
08-06-2014, 10:07 AM
It is unfortunate when a player decides to leave a team. Especially if he has experience, but how can the defense be struggling when they havent played a game?

go see for yourself. they are not that great. open practice at baseball field everday

It makes me scratch my head when I see a team get this much attention when a good year is 6-4 and scoring two touchdowns on Highlands in the second round of the playoffs.

To be fair though, Ashlands D is going up against the best Offense it will face in the regular season which should only make them better as the season rolls along.

When we aren't playing each other most fans pull for the other area schools to win do well and beat the other teams outside of Eastern Kentucky.

They return their leading tackler from last year (OBryan) and add two new faces in the secondary (Bradley and Long) to go along with a healthy returnining starter (Gilliam). The biggest question for them will be the front four. The Pruitt kid would have been a starter and D End but moved to Northern KY, I think he is at Ryle. If our D lineman will play the technique they are assigned, Ashland will be ok. I cant watch the defensive practice becuase I have to work during the day.

Seems like a bold statement to me, maybe I'm wrong.

I wouldnt be so sure its the best offense they will see all year. NCC and Raceland will both be very balanced offensively. And though they lost their backfield, JC and their "next man up" mentality shouldbe good as well.
08-06-2014, 04:42 PM
Will hurt offense too since he starts at FB. Talked to a couple of players a few minutes ago picking up schedule, they told me what happened hoping he changes his mind.
