I dont hate Williamsburg, I have a lot of respect for what a school that size has accomplished. Just want to see a team like that play some competiton instead of a school like Harlan

Amen brother. I have been trying to preach to the choir for 2 years. If you tell them they need to fix it, they get pissed and tell you how wrong you are or how much of an idiot you are. Their schedule is WEAK and needs fixed.

Idk where the world beater mentality comes from. They beat Hazard by 2 scores and Raceland they did thump, as much as it pains me to admit it. But if you watch either game, they didnt resemble anything that was tremendously impressive or dominant. I gave them their dues and they earned my respect by beating the bulldogs and rams last year. But they just didnt look overwhelmingly impressive on any film I saw. Raceland, Pikeville, and Hazard all looked faster on tape. But thats why you play the game. They may be better this year, if so, my hat will be off to them, I just didnt see anything from what returns from last year and what they have had come in from elsewhere, that makes me think that thy will be in any better position, should they make it to BG again. They SHOULD win the east , but I still think its goina be Pikeville vs Hazard in the semis.

Of course we see where there needs to be improvement to beat Mayfield, we get it 55...But I am going to stick to my prediction that Wburg will be better this year barring major injuries, but probably will have a tough time with Mayfield IF we meet again...Guys I did not get on here last year and proclaim Wburg world beaters, but put me down as saying this team will be a very tough out this year...If not I will eat my crow...

There needs to be improvement from that game. I don't think you are getting it, you are basing it on 1 game. Wburg played as bad as they could, got off to as bad a start as you could possible get off to in an environment they had never been in. Not to mention Mayfield was very good and played about as good as they possible could, especially early.
You act like Wburg needs a complete overhaul when that is nowhere near the facts.

If you guys followed us, which I know is hard due to geography, you would have noticed something. Coach Joe tends to slow our boys down if he is in a lopsided game. He does it many different ways. He uses play calling and substitutions to slow it down. He did that for most of the 2nd and 4th quarters. I know when you look at scores it is hard to see that at times but those of us who are very adept at MHs football know this. I remember in 2002 he wanted to strangle a certain fullback for running in a touchdown in the 4th. He does not like to run up scores. I don't want to knock your boys, there is talent there. They just need to get games against stiff comp to know how to react when you get punched in the face early.

Knoxville halls will be much better this year under 2nd year coach, Jefferson Patrick and Wilson will be miss.Jefferson has made over 415 tackles over a 3 year period.Williamsburg no longer has QB Dalton Sizemore. But I truly believe Skyler Giffith can be a special QB for this team. :Cheerlead

This is what I get from it you see an experienced team that's been there multiple times and knows how to handle the pressure of the big moment and huge stadium. You also see they are very fast and well coached. Now as for Williamsburg they where caught off guard and played the worst they have every played. 3 things stick out WBurg line wasn't terrible it mostly came from there center guard area and it didn't look like they where getting hammered more or less confusion on the blocking schemes for what Mayfield did. Which after film I'm sure is an easy fix plus seeing that they didn't lose but one line men. Second, the QB played the worst game of his life maybe it was the pressure or for whatever reason things just didn't click. Last they picked on the newbie on d where Skyler was missing. I don't think mayfield was 42 points better at best 21. A great team indeed but I think the pressure got to Williamsburg early and that's what got them down quick and the more experienced team capitalized. Also I'm not saying WBurg would have won if those things wouldn't have happened just saying it would have been much closer. SCOTTY......No one cares what you think because last year all we heard was how Raceland was too fast and too big up front. Then Williamsburg smashed them through the ground. Ok CLUTCH. I know for a FACT that I have said the "the burg" garnered my respect. Ive also said on several occasions that it was WILLIAMSBURG's speed and strength upfront that caused Raceland problems. If u have read the Raceland thread, ive taken heat from making comments about the '13 line. Sorry, but I wont leave this thread or any other. My BS football knowledge will continue rather you wish to read it or not. I have, man times, stated that Williamsburg SHOULD be the eastern rep. Rather or not I think they will flop, or how many people on here sing praises of Williamsburg, Raceland , Pikeville, Hazard or poor Berea, means absolutley nothing. This site and others are for people who love the game of football. Especially small school HS football. So there you have it. Not arguing points, not getting in a pissing contest, I love these sites, people like 64, Topnotch, E's Army, Bac239, 55 and so manyothers spend alot of time on these threads and rather i agree with them or not, it makes the sites interesting. I agree. Mayfield would have won but it would have been a much differen't game if Skylar played. Mayfield probably wont play Skylar this year either because I doubt Mayfield will make it to Bowling Green . :truestory:nicker:
