Lawrence Co. 28 Sheldon Clark 14 Final
#1
A wins a win Great 4th quarter by the Dawgs Congratulations And good luck to the Cards the rest of the season
#2
You got that right.

If college and NFL teams can win ugly, then HS teams sure as hell can.

Funny how many forget that.
#3
Not what LC fans were expecting, but I am sure they will take it.
#4
Trying to find positives in struggling for a win over this Sheldon Clark team is like polishing a turd.
#5
Congrats to LC.
#6
SC has improved form last year, LC got a good win tonight.
#7
Congratulations Lawrence County on the win.

The refs effected the out come of this game 14-14 4th qtr and Lc kick onsides and have it hit off their helmet before the ten yard mark and they don't throw a flag not to mention being offsides that sould have blown the play dead immediately. These officials should not have been on this game. Pete Runyon was the only official that was ready for this game. Brandon Martin is awful at every sport he calls give it up dude. He's not a white hat. Randy Tincher should be better than he is two weeks in a row he's thrown a grand total of two flags. It's sad that the refs just flat out don't know the rules. They say you are allowed to block In the back as long as it's in the 5 yard tackle box. Maybe I don't know but I thought a block in the back was a block in the back regaurdless wher you are on the field. Something needs to be done abt the officials. Every year they continue to get worse. I thought both teams played hard it was an ugly game but it was a good game to watch. Don't know how Timmy dalton was allowed to played. We got in a shoving match with belfry and I had to sit out my senior night than this guy gets ejected out of the first game he comes back. Ridiculos. What kind of message does that send??

This game has been a huge rivalry for many years. One of those where stats and records don't matter. LC had way fewer penalties but still put the ball on the ground to many times. Defense still needs much work. They will get picked apart next week. Somebody needs to teach them how to move to the ball. Someone needs to instruct them on how to properly tackle. #9, 4, 41, and 5 seemed to be the most effective. Corners were not having any success at stopping the pass. They gave up some big plays when it appeared LC had a stop. They will see one of the best passing QB's in this end of the state next week. All in all a better effort but still a lot to work. Kudo's to the staff for punting when you needed to. It kept you in the game.

Dalton played in this one?

I'm not even going to disagree with you about a certain player being in this game because I don't know the full story of why he was ejected last week or why he was reinstated this week, but be honest, the only reason you even care is because with out him SC has a better chance. The ref's had nothing to do with this game. We all know the ref's suck in the state of Kentucky and they are going to make some bad calls against both teams every night. It is very hard to judge a play like that at full speed with players flying all over and that is why they have film. I got to see the film of this play at a few different angles and the ball went about 11 yards if not a little more before it was ever touched and it never did touch the players helmet, it came off his fingers. These were two very evenly matched teams and both are struggling at this point, but LC is struggling a little less.

I guess sometimes when the adults not from the area (khsaa) look at play they think what the hell are the those refs thinking down there and that is why dalton got to play he should have never been thrown out in the raceland game. Same referee crew we had last week against raceland. It looks like what ever cecil put*daltonh*through this week help him no spiking the ball when he scored, no trash talking, hell he was even helping strech out sheldon Clarke player when he cramped up in the 4th quarter.

Why the confusion on Dalton?

If the Breathitt County ejection is the one in question it is clear from the link that all players involved should have been cleared to play. This was the 3rd game after the ejection.

Unless they were ejected in the previous weeks and it did not get reported I see no reason to even bring it up?

Dalton was ejected last week for supposedly having three personal fouls called against him. Evidently there is a rule, at least according to the officials at this game, that this warrants an ejection. Maybe somebody could shed some light on this. Anyway, I think the argument would be that Dalton got charged with a personal foul for celebration when it should have been an unsportsman like conduct. As for the other calls I am not sure. Obviously, there was no merit to the ejection as he was removed from the DQ list Weds.

Dalton appers to have turned around 180 degrees. Much improved attitude. As for that matter I do not think LC had a single flag for unsportsman like or personal foul.

Congrats Dawgs

Most of it is outlined in bylaws 15 and 27, but that doesn't speak to why it was overturned? I will say over the past several decades I have seen a plethora of different situations where players that have certain reputations or have had the same officials in multiple games, will have penalties imposed on them prematurely. You will get several officials that have bigger egoes than anyone on the field, and they can sometimes over use the power they have. I've seen it lead to futures being ruined because an official has a grudge from something else that has happened. I once seen one of my players take his helmet off after a play a sling it towards our sideline, in which he was thrown out for. The official wasn't aware during the play one of the other teams players took two of his fingers and started pinching his Adams apple at the bottom of the pile. So the kid went into survival mode and tried to get away from the situation. The official was close to where his helmet landed and took it personal. So the next game he played that same official threw him out of the game because he claimed he was taunting the other team. However, when I got into it I found out he was confronting a receiver for missing a blocking assignment. This happens all the time. I'm not sure what happened with the Dalton kid in the second ejection but I do know kids can get labeled and sometimes those labels don't ever leave you? That's why controlling your emotions is so important in sports, because you never know who will be officiating your games in the future? I was thrown out of a baseball game once and we ended up playing for the conference championship, and sure enough we ended up having that same umpire behind the plate. I was on a very short leash that game and needless to say no calls went our way. I considered that loss completely my responsibility because I didnt control myself early in the year and i even knew he'd hold a grudge. My players didnt deserve that. I hope he has things somewhat figured out like everyone is saying? I wish him the best. I hope it continues in his other sports?

Wait a minute. Why is none of the Paintsville posters that constantly berate Lawrence fans for making "excuses" not on here already hounding you? Confusednicker: That was the right call on the onside kick. Are you saying you want the refs to throw MORE flags? You said that one official has only thrown 2 flags in 2 weeks. I thought that is a GOOD thing. I don't want to watch a 4 hour game with 25 flags, do you? Unless it completely changes the play, then don't throw the flag.

As for Dalton, why do you care? Do you know the ins and outs of what happened against Raceland? No, you don't. He didn't get ejected for fightings, pushing, shoving. He was ejected for supposedly trash talking, but seeing how the KHSAA overturned it, I'm guessing there was some good evidence that suggested it wasn't how it was alleged.

I thought it was a very good game!! I still think SC has the better team. Couple of boneheaded plays here and there cost SC this one. I am NOT going to blame the referees. The game was 14-14 when the onside kick happened. (Not sure why our hands team wasn't out there, everyone knew the onside kick was coming. We had scored on 2 straight drives and had their defense on the ropes) We had to have a stop and we could not get it. Not gonna make excuses for these kids losing this game by blaming referees.

Thought Dalton showed class by helping one of our kids stretch when he was down with cramps.

Congrats to Laurence co on the win. I'm very glad I was able to watch this game it was a very good game to watch. Sheldon Clark has a way better team than I thought just needs a few adjustments here and there. I sat below the press box and was very disappointed when I heard a coach whom was on top of the press box yelling at the ref cusing. Not very professional. IMO
#22
No surprise here; congratulations Lawrence County!!

Sounds like a strong performance tonight!

Boy, get in the zone, the right one.

Yea they had another coach yelling at lc #5 between plays with the ref standing right beside him, and people want to talk about the kids trash talking. Like I said before the adults in charge of the games are much more of a problem than the players.

Kids usually always adopt their coach's personality.

#5 took a cheap shot on one of our player then came over there bragging about it

Man you sure got that wrong #5 is standing at the hash marks waiting for the kickoff and one of the sc coaches is yelling at him to look at scoreboard sc had just went up 14 to 7. So to say #5 came over to sc bragging about it is stupid. In any case the adult coach of one team should never say anything to the opposite teams players during the game. He should pay attention to his own team if he had lc may not have reeled off 21 unanswered points in the 4th quarter to take the win on the road.
#28
the play before on the 2pt conv is when #5 took a cheap shot
#29
it happen on the 2pt conv and you don't even know what they was talking about they could play 10 time and it would be 5-5

Just going by what I herd and what I saw lc #5 standing at the hash marks and a sc coach yelling at him to look at the scoreboard and at that time it was 14 to 7 sc. They may play 10 times and it be 5-5 but lc has taken the last 4 in a row so you all better step it up pretty quick.
