I don't understand why East Carter was moved up to 4a. They were 3a last season. Is Carter county growing that much or what?

I love that our schedule get critiqued so much on social media. Four non-district games are Belfry, Lexington Catholic, Harlan County and Fairland. Belfry and Lexington Catholic's tradition is unquestioned. Harlan County is usually quality competition. Fairland had enough nerve to schedule Central, unlike most programs in this area.

Did you not see where I said I was just kidding? Geez some of you JC posters are touchy about the whole strength of schedule thing. The bulldogs took some flack for the first half of their schedule also. We have about 4 easy wins, 3 that are favored over us (one of witch already beat us) and 3 more who are very capable of beating us. I think that is pretty good balance. Those few easy games at the start of the season help kids get healthy and help get the team in a rhythm and work the kinks out.

EC was one of the largest 3A schools in the 2011 alignment. West Carter decreased slightly in enrollment in those 4 years and East Carter increased slightly. The increase of only a handful of students along with changes in others in 3A and 4A was enough for East to earn the last spot in 4A. So instead of Fleming, Russell, West, Lewis, and Mason in district play they now get Johnson Central, Ashland, Boyd, Greenup, and Rowan. Tough draw. It will take a very good team just to earn the #4 seed in the playoffs and a road trip to the #1.

Johnson Central - 83.9
East Carter - 0.6

And he has East Carter has ranked 40th out of 40 teams.

He has East Carter with a 0.6 (ZERO point SIX.... not even a full point) of a Power Ranking. HOW IS THAT EVEN POSSIBLE???? They've scored 109 points in five games. They may not have the best record (1-4) but to not even have 1 whole point in a Power Ranking is crazy.

Five teams have NO WINS and are ranked ahead of East Carter.







Why in the world is this guy still writing and ranking teams? Was this supposed to be in the Funny Papers? Who can take him serious......

Was not referring to any one poster, just speaking in general at the different school administrators that seem to not want any part of the Eagles.

The Apple Board asked Central to change the game from Friday to Thursday because of some Apple Day Concert on Friday. I was wanting to go watch Central on Friday night.

i honestly feel bad for east carter. this game is already over. i wish other schools would play jc. i wish lc would play even i know it would get ugly quick for lc. jc is on different level right now. in a few years this district has a chance to be good. greenup is on the rise, ashland is always tough. boyd still has some years to go but they are getting a little better every year.

This district will be the same in the future as it has been in the past. Johnson Central and Ashland will be the crème of the crop. Boyd County, Greenup County and Rowan County will be average at best, lose to both Johnson Central and Ashland and then play fairly competitive with each other. East Carter will fall into the second group with Boyd County, Greenup County and Rowan County this year and years to come.
