Well the bad news is, with district play starting, it limits the number of 1a games to choose from this week. The good news is there are plenty of good games to make a top ten. These should be some really interesting games. Here's this weeks games:

1) Pikeville 1a @ Hazard 1a
This is always a dandy. Here we have two storied traditions going at it. Here we have 2 teams that were in the running on the east side last year and are apparently the same this year. This game went to the home team Panthers last year by a score of 49-36, in a game which featured the Dawgs coach getting tossed. Last year Hazard went 10-3 on the year. Pikeville finished up 2014 at 11-1. This year it has somewhat reversed itself record wise. Pikeville comes in at 4-2 and Hazard at 5-1. I look for this to be a dandy that will live up to the billing. I bet it will be a packed house on the carpet.

2) Campbellsville 1a @ Danville 2a
Here we have what to the naked eye would appear to be a great matchup. It may have lost some of it's luster though with the injury that Campbellsville sustained just last Friday. Both of these teams finished 2014 with similar records, Danville at 8-4 and Campbellsville at 7-5. Last year Danville crushed Campbellsville in a shutout at 40-0. This year Campbellsville comes in in undefeated at 6-0. Danville has only one loss at 4-1, which came to a powerful 3a opponent. I hope Campbellsville can rebound from the injury to focus and play a tough game in this one. I'm sure the Ad's will have the stadium packed.

3) Raceland 1a @ Lawrence County 3a
Here we have a small school power taking on a 3a team that appears to be a factor this year. Both of these teams also had a successful season last year. Raceland took this one last year at home by a score of 47-14 and LC would like to repay that. Raceland finished up last year in the semis with a record of 11-3. Lawrence County finished up at 9-4, in the regionals. This year Raceland comes in with a mark of 4-2 and LC with a record of 4-1. This also should be a great one to watch.

4) Bishop Brossart 1a @ Ludlow 1a
You talk about another great revenge matchup, here it is. BB had a disappointing 2014, with a 1-8 record. They just missed their second win in this game last year by a narrow margin of 7-16. Ludlow had a winning season last year at 6-5, as a result of this one win. This year it is BB coming in with an impressive 5-0 start to the year. Ludlow is also looking good at 4-2. This is another great one to watch.

5) Fairview 1a @ Dawson Bryant, Oh
Here we have a game between to Dr Jekel/ Mr Hyde teams. You have to wonder which team shows up for each. Fairview has shown great flashes and then the flash burns out the next week, pretty much all season. This appears to be the same for DB. Fairview comes in at 4-2 with DB at 3-3. Both also finished last year with similar records as Fairview went 7-5 and DB at 7-3. This is another good chance for a Ky team to show other states that we can play a little ball here. I think this should be a good one to watch as well.

6) Jenkins 1a @ Phelps 1a
Somebody is going to end a streak in this one. This is a game between two teams in desperate need of a win. They both come into this one with a mark of 0-5. Both finished last year with close to the same record. Jenkins was the more successful of the 2 finishing up at 1-8. Phelps finished 2014 at 0-10. Could Phelps end the streak of at least 15 games? This will be an interesting one to watch as well.

7) Lynn Camp 1a @ Clinton County 2a
Here comes another great one that will fly under the radar. Here we have 2 up and down teams. Here we have a game that came down to the wire last year and here we have a game with two teams that finished 2014 with similar records. Lynn Camp won this matchup last year 28-22. Lynn Camp finished up last year at 2-9. Clinton Co finished up at 3-7. This year Lynn Camp comes in with a slightly better record than Clinton Co at 4-2 and Clinton Co at 3-3. I think this should be another great bout.

8) Pike County Central 3a @ Paintsville 1a
Here we have a game where the smaller school is going outside their comfort zone to play with the big boys. Pike Co Cent is the bigger school, which should mean they have more options. They however come in with a disappointing 2-3 record. Paintsville comes in with an impressive 6-0 start to the year. Pike Co Cent finished 2014 at 6-6 and Paintsville at 10-3. This will be a good measuring stick game for Paintsville.

9) McCreary Central @ Pineville
Here we have a revenge game of sorts again. Pineville won this matchup last year 51-14. That was to a McCreary team that couldn't get out of their own way and went 0-10. This year appears to be an improved edition of McCreary as they are already at 2-4. Pineville finished 2014 at 5-6. They are already at 3-2 on the year. I think this will also be a good one to watch.

10) Bethlehem 1a @ Covington Holy Cross 2a
Here we have a game between two teams that appear to be improved from last years editions. Last year Bethlehem finished up at 7-5 and Holy Cross at 1-10. Holy Cross however is the bigger school. This year Bethlehem is already at 4-1 and Holy Cross at 2-3. I think this one too, should be an interesting one to watch.
