Congrats Russell. Hard to score 74 with running clock at 36
10-17-2015, 03:09 AM
Russell showed how to not run up the score on a team.
10-17-2015, 03:13 AM
Russell did everything they could to keep the score down have even played the freshman back ups
10-17-2015, 03:13 AM
The freshmen backups scored the last TD.
10-17-2015, 03:15 AM
Games like this get lots of young players reps.

Great jod on keeping the score from embarrassing the other team then
10-17-2015, 03:18 AM
Would you like them to tell the JV and freshmen not to play hard?
That would be embarrassing.
That would be embarrassing.

I commented both ways. What do you want me to say? Are you felling guilty about the score or something?

Nope. Just asking a question.

Great job on keeping the score from getting out of hand

If Russell would have continued to play 1st and 2nd strings after scoring 60points that is wrong but they didn't there were mostly Freshman so let them play.

@ledgersports - Bath County fumbled on the six yard line in last two minutes and Fleming County held on to wn 21-19. Bath County had too many TO's tonight. One TD for Fleming County was a fumble recovery and returned for TD. Another TD was by a interception thrown by Bath County and then the last Fumble in last minute of game. If Bath County would have scored from the Six yard line with minute to go they end up winning 26-21! Fleming County hasn't looked so hot since the Russell Upset!

Fleming county has what to do with this thread with Russell Running up the score on another team down?

What is so Funny we have fans out there calling for Russell's head tonight beating Lewis County 74-6. If you look at their schedule most teams this year have scored 50+ on Lewis County and we have our Freshman team in there for last couple of TD's to make 70 points. What is the difference between tonight and any other night for Lewis County give up 50-60 points a game.
10-17-2015, 03:46 AM
Who has called for Russell's head tonight? Show one example.
10-17-2015, 03:47 AM
Man you really are upset over that score! Either get better or quit football. Kills me to here the whinners over a score being ran up when the team is doing all that it can to keep it down. What did you want Russell to do? Put in the cheerleaders? If I had a son and he was the worst on the team, he would have gotten to play tonight, and I would be ticked to have someone to tell him not to give his best.

LCC fan everyone of your posts has been negative with Russell winning tonight 74-6 over Lewis County.

Said in post 8 way to not embarrass a team

I said in post 4 Russell showed how not to run up the score

Its not Russell's job to keep from scoring. That's the other teams job. Russell subbed early and often playing a lot of 2&3s from the end of the 1st qt on ending with the backup freshman playing. Its mire embarrising for a team to know that someone is laying down for you that getting beat by a large margin.

So, with Fleming vs. Pendelton, WC vs. Lewis, and Russell vs. Bath next week it looks like we will end up with a 3-way tiebreaker system all being 4-1 in the district. Each team will select 4 opponents they beat and add up their wins and who has most points wins District.
Fleming County would pick Estill County with 5wins, Bath County 5wins, rest of the teams with wins either have no wins or One Win. Fleming Couty will end up with 14 Points. West Carter selects Powell County could end up with 6 Wins, Bath County with 5 wins, Nicholas County with 5 wins, and Magoffin with 3 or 4 wins. West Carter ends up with 19 points. Russell picks Greenup with 5 wins, Ironton wih 6 wins, Bath County with 5 wins, and if beat Raceland 5 or 6 wins. Russell would end up 21 or 22 points. District Tiebreaker would be Russell at 21 or 22 points, West Carter with 19 points, and Fleming with 14 points. That would give Russell the District. It looks like it will come down to Russell or West Carter winning the District.

It's strange seeing Russell thrash a team this badly. Congrats to the Devils, though.
10-17-2015, 05:11 AM
If Russell and West tied on points, would Russell win because of their win over West?

Its an impossible predicament to be in. I prefer to believe no coaching staff wants to humiliate an opponent on such a lopsided contest. You cannot ask your level 2 and 3 players to back off in effort either.
10-17-2015, 05:44 AM
COACH McGlone would have never let that happen. (He had more class)

Nice job Russell. You've earned me as a fan. Show no mercy. Let the tears flow, and let the snot roll.
