Sheldon Clark is competing in the medium division and I will continue being a homer as I have been all year and say they will pull it out.

I really hate to hear that and I hope that she is alright. I know that they moved up in a category when Pikeville moved down and have probably been adjusting their routine. I know how hard the girls work to get it as close to perfect as they can be and when one person gets injured that makes it twice as hard to overcome.

Let me say this to everyone.....
I know, better than anyone, that cheerleading is one of THE MOST competitive sports that is out there. As everyone knows, I am a diehard Belfry fan and will defend every Belfry athletic team until the end.
I will be cheering on Belfry Varsity to win 2 1/2 large and Belfry Co-ed in the co-ed division with everything in me!
Saturday is getting ever closer and peoples anxiousness, nerves and tempers are going to start flaring.
As posters, just remember to support YOUR squads with class and dignity!:thumb:

i dont know about this year, pikevilles jr high is pretty good from what ive seen but they are extremely young if belfry did go against them and dominate them itd be because they are all 5-9th grade how fair would that be?
but dont say theres not any compeition because as i recall pikeville beat belfry outta going to state in 2003 and that was there jr high squad and they had 1 guy so obviously in recent years pikeville has been more than enough compeition for belfry

all that is true but what makes it right for middle school girls/guys to compete on a high school level...?

"BHSAll-American" Wrote:all that is true but what makes it right for middle school girls/guys to compete on a high school level...?
that guy was a freshman at the time so he was in high school
what makes it right? what doesnt make it right? if kids at that young of an age have talent why not compete and why would it matter if they are too young then it shouldnt be a problem for those high school squads if they are better than them and its not that those girls/guys wanna compete at a high school level there is no jr high, jv, or freshman levels at Kapos so they have to compete at a high school level theres really no choice

You heard very wrong!! If they have ever intended to compete in traditional, they would have signed up for it in when they declared...and not dropped into a different division later!

You're right and KAPOS recognized what a mistake had been made in judging and changed the rules to clarify what should be recognized as a Co-ed Squad and what the difference is in CO-ED and NON CO-ED stunting and the difficulty level that exist in each so that it would never happen again.
Belfry had MAJOR CO-ED stunts that year...co-ed single-base extension/libs/full outs, basket tosses that took people's breath away...LITERALLY!! Pikeville's boy backspotted....there was not one CO-ED stunt in their entire routine!
But, about the young thing...that is the age group that they have always been and will always continue to be...so if they chose to compete with the older people...don't use their ages as an excuse when they get beat by them.

yeah but if belfrys stunts that year took peoples breath away then why did they not make it outta region? yeah but they had to go co-ed cuz the rules used to be if you had one boy you had to go coed and with doing that they beat belfry and if the diffuclty level of pikeville wasnt enough then how come they placed 3rd at state that year? yeah i know they have to compete in high school positions im not making it an excuse but they havent been beat by them

I have it on film and you can hear the ENTIRE crowd gasp when the basket tosses were thrown by Belfry that year!!! I know that the old rules stated that one boy had to go co-ed. Some people may not like what I am going to say...but if the shirts had not said Pikeville, the trophy would have and should have went to Belfry!! How many co-ed squads competed at state when they placed 3rd that year? If I'm not mistaken.....5.
I don't want to turn this into a Belfry/Pikeville thread, I have said before that Pikeville has had some very good squads.

okay stop being a sore loser, really ppl with talent usually have a reputation of being the best

Usually having a reputation of being the best...doesn't actually mean that they are.

You actually just justified the post that you quoted. The definition of Reputation is "the general estimation in which a person is held by the public"...therefore they may be perceived as something that they are not.
