Ashland is good but this may be the best team Johmson Central had ever put together

At Johnson Central we not only play football but provide a quality education.
Getting bounced 1st round of the playoffs each year allows for more study time, so I guess there is some good that comes from it. :hilarious:

I have to give a special salute to Bob Seger. He calls it exactly as he sees it. His above quote is a classic and is certainly factual. Johnson Central lives in the present. Ashland lives in the past...
Thanks for chiming in with your objectivity Harry. Ashlandâs Program does have a rich tradition like many of our high schools with multiple State Championships. Iâve never claimed it was the best Program, but to deny the existence of Tomcat Tradition is fallible.
Unless Iâm mistaken (and that happens a lot), both of our football programs have enjoyed success, and in many ways some have set the bar so high, itâs unlikely any other school in Kentucky will eclipse the current milestone of that famous team to our North.
Harry, I guess you could summarize some have a whole lot, some have a little bit, and then there are those which donât have any.
Neither trophies nor past accomplishments will have any bearing on this Fridayâs contest with Centralâ¦thatâs why we are going to play the game.
Oh, and by the wayâ¦you and I share another commonality: I too have a âspecial salute to Bobâ.

They are not better than the 2010 ten team that took highlands to the wire in the regional final or JC's state semi-finalist from 2006

Agree 100%. Even if this team were to make it all the way and win the title I would still say that both the 2006 and 2010 teams where better. Better defense and more playmakers.

Why thank you there Ole Paint.. Just so I know how to dress, will I be getting my special award at this saturday mornings Optimist Club meeting? I try to never miss one of those "bunch of turds in a punch bowl occasions". I know you and the boys will be there, so see you then?
And thanks ever so much. I'll be sure to make it a day that will live in infamy. After all, it's all for one and one for all.

Hey, give him a little break. They almost beat Belfry for the first time in most of their players' lives, they get all antsy in their pantsies.

Yeah I know...
But it's that danged ole 1A schedule they play that keeps them from having that glimmer of hope that they could compete on the middle school circuit.

Gee Ole Paint, I don't think lyin, cheatin, and stealin, are things that is looked upon highly when you start talkin about "tradition"...Maybe that's what's getting you all confused.. Them's all bad things.

It's been 10 years since Johnson Central got beat in the 1st round. Nice logic. I think most schools would trade their record for our 15 playoff wins in the last 9 years. I know Lawrence County would make that trade in a minute.

You my friend are crazy..... :Shaking:
The 2006 team was special. They put JC football on the map. That team and that season is the reason football has remained so strong in our elementary, middle and high school. I remember a YOUNG Geordon Blanton, Blake Gamble and several other current JC players playing their own football game over by the scoreboard end of the field during every home game. They would see Shaun Grim make one of his crazy spin moves, then you would see those youngsters try imitate him and see who could do it better. Or they would see Blake Johnson run people over and they would see how many people it would take to bring them down. That feels so long ago...........
When your team current team would have been in 3rd, 2nd, 1st or Kindergarten during that 2006 season.... those kids remember how awesome that season was.
With one last land to conquer.... the 2015 team will be the ones who finish the mission the 2006 team started. #StateChampionship

Hey THOMCAT, are we talking about the same school that just a couple of years ago went 0-10 in the regular season, yet still made it to the playoffs.
Imagine not winning a single game the whole season and then actually playing in the playoffs.
Of course they came into post season cranking on all cylinders and peaking at just the right time. They only got throttled by a score of 62-0 in the first round. It was their finest effort on the season though, as they saved their best for last.
Yep, it's quite a program they have up there.

I'll take that as an admission that ASH-land has built their "tradition" on lyin, cheatin, and stealin.

Could very well happen. But remember if they win it this year the level Of teams they have to go through is different then that era. this team could be top 5 overall. But talent wise is not as good as those other 2 Teams. Remember JC beat A very Good Ashland team twice that year Just to get to the regional final. Then played eventual State Champ Cov Cath. Then in 2010 Lost to Eventual State Champ Highlands and D1 Elite 8 Qb Patrick Towles on a dropped pass that if JC scores everyone knows they go for 2 to win it. If this team is better than either of those I will buy Bob Segar dinner at Texas Roadhouse
