No , your cricket was fine, I was talking about it being very odd that we had heard NOTHING from our pouty friends to the north.

You won't hear much til the Region Title (if Ashland makes it) It's just typical Ashlanders not getting what they want and having their dreams shattered.

I've been reading this site for several years now and after having my fill, decided to join. YES the TOMCATS have a game this week. Unlike the want to be's from south on 23, we scheduled up and are playing a 6A Team, also with great tradition. We plan to take the best running back in KY in 2015 and a really great DEFENSE to Lexington and beat this 6A team. Now when any of you southern want to be's begin to hang STATE CHAMPIONSHIP BANNERS and by the way, the first one still means as much as the last, from the walls of your respective stadiums, THEN the TOMCAT NATION MAY consider you worthy to speak our names. TILL THEN continue to hope and dream and try to figure out the mystique of all things TOMCAT.

Uh, just so you know there TOMCAT Crackpotter, but the team that Johnson Central will be playing tomorrow night is the same team that destroyed the team early this season that you have "scheduled up" to play tomorrow night...And get this now grasshoppa, it's the same team that ASH-land has declined to play anymore, due to the constant tail whippins they always received..I can see why you have refrained from joining this site for all these years now, if that is the best preface of gobbledygoop that you can come up with to address the BGR community as an opener...Looks like you're struggling mightily right from the very start.
You know, I've asked a thousand times but nobody seems to want to accommodate the rest of us that want to have a view of that hallowed leather helmet that sits in the ASH-land trophy case from the depression years...Ya think you can take the lead, take a colored glossy 8 X 10 of that sucker and further help us to worship with ya'll?...Or is it on the same scale as the Ark of the Covenant, that no eyes shall lay upon it?

Probably none in our life times.
I think Calvin Coolidge was in office at the time.

Hey there Bobby Boy, I must agree with you!!! Belfry IS A CLASS TEAM. Worthy of you as an opponent. I'm still a bit fuzzy on the whole helmet thing though??? You again are correct. We did win OUR FIRST State Championship when helmets were leather. Notice I said our FIRST State Championship. Many more have followed. 11 if my Maroon and White Memory serves me correctly. Heck, we even won some wearing modern day versions complete with cages and chin straps. Our LAST one was in 1990, about the time BOB SEEGER had his last top 40 hit. Now once again, just exactly HOW MANY KENTUCKY STATE FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP'S HAVE YOU WON???? Please enlighten all these BGR Readers that fawn over your replies. I know I'm just breathless in anticipation, so let me answer for you.... NONE, NOTTA, ZILCH!!! And Thereby Hangs the Tail..... GO TOMCATS!!!

Jc fans don't jinx yourself.
10-29-2015, 05:55 PM
Nobody said that JC would win tomorrow night.I think everybody expects an all all out hard hitting war tomorrow night..There is nobody that likes and respects Belfry any more than Johnson Central fans..Just giving the facts to that asinine first post from TOMCAT Crackpotter, that obviously came complete with absoluely NO thought applied to it at all..

They won an "at large" championship way back when and a legit title in 1990 I think.

The MOVE UP reference was to Class Size, I.E. 3 A or 6 A, NOT ability. I'm very aware of Belfry's fine History. They too have won numerous STATE CHAMPIONSHIP'S. You of which, I must remind, HAVE NOT. The TOMCATS were building Championship Teams 100 years ago. You only came to existence when consolidation happened, but that's not a bad thing. Keep dreaming and it will happen for you. Oh and bye the bye, apparently you can't read either. IT"S CARETAKER. We send our Crackpots south on 23 and make Eagles out of them.

The Ashland Tomcats won 8 State Titles from 1900 to 1968, going in one stretch 6 Seasons without a loss. I realize that likely none of us, except maybe Bob Cigar, was alive in 1900, so lets move forward. Johnson Central came to be in 1968. That year Ashland won the FIRST of it's "modern" era Titles, yes with polycarbonate, not leather, helmets. They won again in Class 4 A in 1975, a "State at Large" Title. All other 4 A Teams played then the winner went to Louisville and played the Louisville Champion for the "Over All" Title. The KHSAA made that rule, not the TOMCATS. We were beaten by a very good St. X Team. Now we go to 1990, and won the 3A Title, with a trio of 1,000 yard rushers. These are facts. Again, I say to the Detroit Rocker, "How many you got?????"

Class is irrelevant when you refer to something as an "upgrade" Crackpot....Ability is. Tate's Creek has been horrible, so that kills your whole ridiculous post right off the bat....Notice how ASH-land sure does like to play those 1A and 2A schools up around your neck of the woods though don't they? Why sure they do!! And most years cant even beat them.
And you wont play Belfry anymore because of.....????
Your championship back in the depression days, 100 YEARS ago, doesn't mean a whole lot here the last several decades now does it? The plain fact of the matter is that to get another one you will ALWAYS have to go through Johnson Central....
By the way, you gonna put a picture up of that leather helmet or not?

I prefer Motor City Rocker, BTW.
Fact is Crackpot, you will never get another one without going through JC...I know that kills your souls, but that's just the way it is..
BTW, gasoline engines replaced the horse and buggy a long time ago too...You're still living in the turn of the 20th century there junior.

Our 1st State Title Helmet may be leather but at least we have one, or 11. Any time you want, come up and I'll be more than proud to show them to you in really close person. Secondly, Einstein, when we won in 1990, you Southern Boys had been playing 22 years and 25 years later, still haven't won. Thirdly,we won't have to ALWAYS go through you. Our population is way down. As a matter of fact you beat a rather smallish school that probably should be 3-A by 1 point. Running clock my leather helmet. You keep right on growing and move on up. Maybe then you'll finally win one.

I bet all this talk about leather headgear has got ole' Bobby pretty worked up right now. I'm confused though. You called my first post asinine. Which part? That we have the best running back or a really good defense. He out rushed you by himself and the D held you to your lowest O output all year. So which part is asinine??? Either I'm right or you aren't really that good to begin with. Oh I know, it was a trick. You really weren't trying to win maybe. Like I said, I don't know, I'm confused!! But on a serious note, do you wear a lot of leather??? Just asking!!

I know you are smart but let's break it down. 11 Titles in 115 years is about 1 for every 11 years or so. JC started in 68 so that's 47 years, so obviously since you are better than us, you must have at least 5????? Can I see them or are they like the illustrious Unicorn. Put up or shut up Bob.

Avoiding the facts Bobby Brown. I agree politics played a role In ending the Belfry series and I don't like it. But it had nothing to do with Ashland not being able to compete or Tail Whippins as you so put it. Cause those never Happened.
