By losing this game the three way tie remains tied deep into the tie-breaker
All the wins match up except West Carter has one more win than Russell...
1. West Carter vs. Sheldon Clark
2. Russell vs. Pike Central
3. Fleming vs. Lawrence Co
4. Bath vs. Belfry

i told you it was going to happen.

:welcome: back Raceland fans. Congratulations to 1A Raceland :Cheerlead....I was wrong in this one. Sorry Scotty_Bronson

These are two good(but not great) teams. Raceland was better tonight, though. OT was a disaster for the Devils on offense and after being stuffed up the middle all night, Kane Snyder bounced one outside for the winning touchdown.
I wish I could be a little more optimistic, but I see 2nd round playoff exits for both of these teams. Russell couldn't take care of business against Fleming and now find themselves likely traveling back down to Pond Creek in a couple of weeks. Pike Central's up first, though.

Congrats to the Rams. A tough win against a quality team is just what they needed to get back on track for the playoffs.

Bad way to end a very mediocre season. The Devils lost on homecoming and senior night, the really sad and above all worst part is that some of Russell's seniors didn't even get in for one play. I rub a lot of homers on here wrong with my comments cause they are too drunk on the kool aid to really see what is going on in this program. The classlessness to not play all the seniors for one play is unacceptable and pathetic. I played for the same Ivan Mcglone that TJ played for and Ivan always played his seniors on senior night hell in most cases every game. Congrats to the Rams I knew Raceland would give it all they tonight and they beat us AGAIN fair and square. Good luck to you all in playoffs.

And once again the lack of balance on offense did the Devils in overtime. I've said it all year that balance was the key and that tight ends were needed to run the ball. The unwillingness of the coaching staff to adapt their scheme to their talent is where the blame soley lies and not with kids who followed and gave their all for their general Custer like leader.

Dawg byte I agree and it's completely unacceptable for this to take place at all. The coaching staff and the athletic department that supports them should be ashamed of themselves.

After leaving my house, driving 7 hours, working for 10, then driving right back home, this was one hell of a way to keep me alert and focused. Gotta admit, I had to pull over after the winning TD.

I haven't been to Ruseell to watch a game in a long time the thing I was surprised about was the amount of empty seats on Rusells side especially on senior night , with more grandparents. Aunts and uncles for senior players , cheerleaders and band members they use to pack the louse

How many seniors didn't play ? And are you saying they didn't get into the game at all even on special teams ?
10-31-2015, 02:13 PM
My thing is you're there to win the football game ... Maybe some of the seniors were not good enough and a threat of the big play could have happened. I played for TJ and that's just how it is. You have to earn your right to play and especially in those big games.
10-31-2015, 02:31 PM
I have to say. TJ is there to help win games. The coach's job is to help the players win games. TJ is a class act when it comes to caring about his players! You ask any Raceland parent or player and they will tell you that. Yes, most times you can get them in on a special team but depends on how tight the game is. Anyway, after all that; Russell sure has two of the best big men up front on "D" I have seen in a while and the center is reallllllly good! I really hope we didn't fake punt inside the 35! I know people thought we onside kicked against Fairview and we didn't. Good win for the Rams! Our team showed that we are a good team when we play together and backs block for each other. It is just one of those seasons that make you pull your hair out trying to figure out the if's and when's about kids on the field.......

Rams are back on track.

I think the defensive scheme was really good kudos to the coaches , adding the 5th down lineman kept Russell from being able to double team Isaac and Jerome , Issac had a great game lineman don't get a lot of love but should've been game mvp Kane was very deserving as well

I never took a tally of who did and who didn't get in the game but this was for district championship and while I feel sorry for a few of the seniors that may have not got in I still feel with what was at stake TJ did the right thing. I never was a big fan of scheduling powder puffs for homecoming or Sr night. There a game like any other with some fan fair. Last night was also a big crowd with the 2nd highest split the pot next to the Greenup game. Mistakes killed Russell not play selection. Were you even watching the game nutty? Snap over punter...offsides calls...roughing the punter....interceptions....ball strip from Conley (which I still feel was questionable)...missed extra point....etc. Thats what hurt us most. Not balance lol

Sorry nutty I meant thinblueline in my comment. My bad I'm half awake. Lol

No excuses for TJ at call because IVAN always found a way even in big games to play them at least on special teams. Those seniors stuck it out the whole year so all of them EARNED the right to play. ZERO CLASS!!! Not the same Russell I played for during the Ivan years. Devil Watcher put down the kool aid for one minute and look at the culmination of the whole year. Interceptions could be from a lack of balance and ruffing the punter is an inconsistency on defense same kinda mistakes all year long!!!

How about Raceland fumble on their own 20 , a punter faking a punt( his won call) on our 35 which both turned into points for Russell along with a ton of terrible calls so Russell can't cry it was just turnovers or calls , Raceland did their fair share as well , big spilt the pot is NOT a indication of a big crowd people with a gambling problem maybe but ass's in seats do and looking from the Racelsnd side the whole right side of the stands and most of the top center was empty in Russell's side

Both teams made their share of mistakes, but the RAMS earned this victory.
