Pikeville got any injuries?

Just got done looking at the Pikeville and Williamsburg video in that thread and I must say I can't under stand why some of those starters are in when that game is well in hand and risk possible injury to kids. I mean I know they want to play but get the others kids some PT in case an injury occurs during a close game.

2nd string back scored last 2 TDs. Other reserves saw action as well. When there is a running clock before the 1st quarter is over it makes for a very short game. Pugh didn't play after 1st quarter, only had 6 carries. A lot of people thought Pikeville took their foot off the gas last year and it bit them. Got to get people snaps, there are close 4 quarter games coming up. I think they are running like a fine-tuned machine at just the right time.

If you look again, you see that the backup RB was in from the start of the 2nd qtr on, I believe, and JV QB entire 2nd half, plus a lot of linemen rotating, etc. reserves got plenty of snaps, but now at the point in the season where you really need to keep sharp. Bengals game last night was actually a perfect case in point. Long layoff definitely affected their offense. Starters got a perfect amount of rest, I believe, and I think this different approach will serve the team well.

I was talking about Chatlin Jarell and a few others. Yes they aren't primary but a loss of him would hurt or any others.

Who ever gets the ball first will win this game. Pikeville 42 - Hazard 14

Pikeville has too many skill players that are good. Their OL doesn't get the credit it deserves either. Pikeville wins.

I'm sure Coach doesn't want to get anyone injured, but he also must try and keep as many of his players in game shape for 4 quarters of football the best he can because, from here on out, there's a pretty good chance that the game won't be over after the 1st quarter.

I can understand role players but Jarrell, Pugh, Vanderbeck, Battlie lineman and the Charles should be tested.

You are continuing to bark up the wrong tree. According to the stats posted on KHSAA site, Pikeville ran a total of 24 offensive plays in this game. 5 went to the second string back. That means the starters got 19 snaps. Again, Pugh played one quarter. The last 8 weeks of football, Pikeville has had 6 running clocks, one bye week, and put Hazard away early in the 3rd quarter in the other week. They need the reps, end of story. Nothing to see here. Hopefully starters are in street clothes by halftime vs. Hazard so you will be happy.

Or something like that? Little off topic but the talk reminded me of that story. Lol

I agree that Pikeville needs reps in real game time situations. Practice has been harder than some games. They're hungry wanting to hit somebody beside themselves all the time. Pikeville cannot help the other teams keep from a running clock

I may be. But if the game is over early Friday and some one gets injuries then there should be no crying about they should be on the sideline to prevent injury. Class A teams having little to no depth but some do have the Luxury of it. I myself only stress the Fact because I really want to see the east win it this year and I hate to see it jeopardized because a team was getting starters reps in a game that was well in hand. Is it a crime that a fellow eastern Kentuckian wants to see our teams have the best chance to win it all at 100% healthy?

Hazard held Pugh pretty fair the last game it was everyone else that wasn't held in check.

Popcorn, coffee, drinks, nachos and cheese. And all of it is good. Is it a cafe? Nope. But people come to watch the games. The really big tailgate spread is the VIP shed. I don't go to games based on how good the concessions are, but every time I go, I make sure to get something to support the boosters because I work ours when I can, I know how much they mean to the teams and schools. And FWIW, the Hazard one had outstanding coffee when I've gone there.

JetPilot runs the VIP shed, there is only Falls City no food plus some pretzels and peanuts from previous flights
