Hurricane Matthew
#1
Well here we go again. But here for 6 months now and here comes #2. This time Jacksonville will see a lot worst conditions. Some areas may see wind gust of 90-100mph and 3-5 inchs of rain per hour. Prayers are needed to a lot of people who are in. The path of this major storm. From Florida all the way up to Virginia.

You guys be safe! weather.com is predicting some nasty stuff for your area.
#3
We were in the crosshair until this morning. All the reports had it hitting land in the area in which I live. Now they are saying it is going to miss us totally. It remains to be seen. Could be an adventurous weekend.

Definitely will be. However we are not out of the woods. Just a small shift we will be back in the crosshair. It's amazing how calm people are about the hurricane around here.

#7
^Not sure you are out of the woods yet Jarons! Your area is definitely within that projection cone.
#8
One thing around here is people are taking this very serious. Most gas stations are out of gas most grocery stores shelves are bare. This thing has shifted a little more west looks like Jacksonville is going to get a pretty good shot. As of now most places are closing Thursday afternoon and won't reopen till Saturday.

This morning wind is starting to pick up along with the rain. Good news is the eye has move just a little east and that has moved the stronger winds a way from the shore a little.

They are now saying that Jacksonville will be the closest to the outer eye wall during high tide!

Hope you guys are far enough inland to stay safe!!

Keep us informed.
#14
High tide is about an hour from know. Which times it perfect with the strong winds to cause Strom surges of around 11ft. Thankfully we're far enough inland that the water won't cause much problems for us. Wind on the other hand could cause some problems. But so far we still have power.

It appears that it's right on top of you guys right now. Praying for your safety!

We're just waiting. Yesterday it was going to miss us, now today it's going to hit us. I have no clue. Rain forecasts range from 6 to 15 inches of rain. The weather men don't when it is going to hit. Some say Saturday morning, others say Saturday afternoon or evening. We have everything we need to last a few days, I will hang out at home watch football all weekend and hope and pray all comes out well. It won't take much to cause flooding and fallen trees we have had quite a bit of rain the last couple of weeks, the ground is already saturated.

#17
Yeah, I heard where your area has had 3 days of rain from another front.

That ain't good!!
#18
Just read that the center of Hurricane Matthew is expected to pass about 75 miles from Emerald Isle. I live about 20-30 miles south of Emerald Isle.

Wow! Stay safe Jarons!!
#20
Stay safe my friend. Looks like we made it through it. Never lost power. Light flashed on and off a few times but it stayed on. Winds are starting to die down a little. Rain has stopped for now.

^ As of 12:50, Matthew has not officially arrived. We have had wind and rain all day, gusts getting stronger as the day goes on. A tornado was spotted about 15 miles from my house. Still have electricity worst is still to come.

#26
So far so good.

Keep us informed!!
#27
Raining heavily right now. My wife just went to work, she said there trees down in town. The electricity is out across town, but we still have electricity. Yard is flooded with ankle deep water and we are leaking water in the house in one room.

Roof repairs in your future!!
#29
Fortunately it's not roof. The water ies seeping in through the base boards we need to finish caulking the outside of the house to seal it up.
