2017 Sep 25 Class 3A Media Poll

Wienerschnitzel Wrote:Corbin can't beat you....only we have a chance imo.

I know your 2020 class is really good. Our Freshmen class is ok, 8th grade is loaded.

Belfry will be 2A in 2019...Boyle probably 4A so we better make a 2 year thing. Smile

No we'll stay in 3A but if Boyle is going to move up we better go ahead and gets this going now a Belfry vs Boyle is a dream match up I've been wanting to play them for years I was reading so of your post we can throw the ball if needed but I will say this I don't think there's no team in 3A that can stop Welman from getting 3 1/2 yards at a time stacking the box or not Huntington's d-line was giant and fast and he still got 142 yards we just turned the ball over five times and it cost us the game but if it happens it should be a great match up

Ballistic Wrote:Could be Corbin you play. Never know. I meant when our run ends it won't make us relevant later on. Btw, belfrys sophomores and freshmen are pretty loaded too. Maybe we can make it a yearly occurance if we can get by Corbin
West Virginia is always loaded.

Why can't Corbin win? Central and E-Town have no chance at all ?

It's just my opinion. Central and Corbin won't beat Belfry imo.

Etown is on Boyle side and I just don't believe they can beat the Rebels.

I don't believe E-town can either. My "opinion" is that that E-town is the 5th best team .

1.) Belfry
2.) Boyle Co
3.) Corbin

Western Kentucky is not where you find competitive 3A football these days.
#42
Heck I guess all the other teams in 3a should hang it up and start preparing for basketball and baseball since Boyle has a team. And to note the rb for Belfry is in my opinion the best around, Corbin is for real and the only way Boyle beats either team is if Corbin and Belfry beat the piss out of each other and goes into championship game injured.

Wienerschnitzel Wrote:So do you friend.

One of us will be wrong.

I really like my chances.

I've not said anything to eat crow about Smile I'm not crowing about being the fastest or biggest in 3A......

At least not yet Smile

pjdoug Wrote:You do too.

Over what?

Wienerschnitzel Wrote:Boyle has at least four faster including the KY State 100M Champion. But please tell me that Belfry has someone faster than VanCleve (Danville) and Brent's (Waggener). I'm all ears.

If football was played in a straight line and 100 meters at a time this "fact" would be much more relevant. Seeing how it isnt, while speed helps, it isn't the most important thing. If it were vancleave wouldn't have beat Boyle this season. No orn is very fast when they're on the ground.
#46
Boyle can't beat Danville and we're supposed to believe they can beat Belfry.. ahhh. I don't know about that. Lol. Corbin and Belfry are at the top, and then the west is open between a few teams.

Danville has the fastest kid alive. Ran a 4.1 in two pairs of shoulder pads. Not a fair comparison.

What kid won the 100M?

Wienerschnitzel Wrote:Keep this in mind....Boyle has had problems with QBs that can run/pass and/or teams that can spread the field with great QBs. Running games of any sort that can't throw the ball RARELY IF EVER are effective vs Boyle.

Belfry is not a passing team. Boyle will stack the box and play man in the secondary with speed to burn. IMO it's a bad matchup for them.

Just to be fair, when has Boyle faced a running team remotely in the same caliber of Belfry? Don't even say Garrard County because Belfry has had more team speed in their water girls than Garrard has had the past two years.

Boyle is a tremendous team and my pick to come out of the West.

With that said, so far Boyle has essentially played the exact same team this year every week with the exception of Danville. Teams with nice athleticism and speed at the skill spots, but very mediocre up front and not exactly the best coached teams as well.

The one team who was fundamentally solid and decent at the LOS was Danville... they held Boyle to 7 points and took the win.

Boyle certainly seems vastly improved on Defense, but let's not act like that Rebels have not had their lunch ate the past two years when they faced Central.. a well coached team who competed at the LOS.

Mission #1 for Boyle is to beat Lexington Catholic. Perry has owned Smith and any chance for title aspirations have to begin with Boyle first getting over that hump. Once they beat LexCath (which I think happens this year) then we can start putting them in the conversation of challenging Belfry.

Who has Boyle beat that warrants them being in the same conversation as the top two teams?

They almost beat Danville and Danville's best player outran tyson gay with a hole in his shoe!!!

Wow...lots of people threatened by a fan that thinks his team is going to win state.

(Eye roll)

Straight line?

I was just illustrating the facts that back up my claim of speed on the team. Stop with the over analysis already.

when the sopohmores at boyle are seniors will they just transform into sports cars with their speed??

Since you are a "coach", I'm sure you understand how young teams grow up over the course of the season. This is what is occurring with the young Rebels which is what I've stated on here.

Landon Bartleson 6'1" 185lbs RB/CB

10.95 100M KY state champion

Three others that run sub 11.6...one of which was honorable mention all-state football as a freshman last year (Reese Smith).

Man...by the looks of this, you seem to know more than our HOF coach on scheduling?!?! Because according to you...Waggener, Danville, Wayne, Collins are damn near the same team.

Wow! You should be a coach.

Ok

Just like you said in a previous quote, what I thought lol.
State a factual statement instead of your genius thought. Belfry is king until someone dethrones them, the closest team to do it was corbin last year that is a factual statement. Belfry plays a harder road to get to state than in the championship, that's another fact. Third and final fact if corbin and belfry stay healthy the winner on thanksgiving weekend is your 3a state championship team.

As a long time Boyle fan, we are getting better but in my opinion we are not on Belfry or Corbin level. We have played one team that was what I would consider good and that was Danville and we struggled. Now with that being said the play calling on Boyle side was not very good but at the end of the day the kids didn't get it done and took a loss. I would love to see us play Belfry or Corbin or whomever in the finals but we still have lots of work to do. And if we can't beat Catholic by a couple of TD's no need to have anymore conversations about where we stand and Coach Smith would agree.
