Agree with all the numbers but I must add DeSales and/ or Christian Academy in the 2A mix.

Throw in the Hardin schools and Waggener and their battle tested along with playing the 2A potential Champions. An absolute absurd statement to say a team averaging 48 points a game can't score if someone plays defense. I'm sure they weren't scoring on air in these games. Either way you'll see the Rebels back in the big show.

Look at how many points those teams allowed, out a good defense in front of them and they won’t score like they have all season. Hats off to them but my statement was correct

if your team gets to play them you will see how many points they can score .
#44
TongueirateShoI stand by my picks.
Don't see any chance for Desales
Only reason I gave Mayfield a chance is crazy stuff happens when they play.

Boyle County I may agree with to a point. But only because they've got it made in the playoffs and will avoid pretty much everybody.
I'll stick by what I got though.

DeSales and CAL have the two best defenses in 2A. DeSales has held their schedule to under 100 points. They are big, fast, and physical. Any team that can beat them will earn it.

Boyle's not avoiding anyone just the way the KHSAA has it laid out. Next season with the cross bracketing Boyle, Belfry, Lex Cath. will all be in the same region to go along with Corbin on the east side of the bracket. It is what it is.

I agree! Beechwood has not played a top level 1A team yet because other than themselves the top 1A teams are in the east!

West Beechwood

East Paintsville , Hazard, Raceland, Pikeville.

Any one of our 4 in the east would LOVE that west bracket and it's "much easier" path to the state championship game EVERY YEAR!

I like to talk trash but I think The East has a chance.

Wayne County has given up 196 points in 12 games.

They gave up 28 points to Knox Central, same as Danville did.

Speaking of the Ads, they have given up 190 points.

Collins has given up less than Wayne, 172 points in 12 games.

Did I say Boyle made the brackets?
Nope.

I said Boyle has avoided every good team in 3A and will until the title game. Boyles got it made this year.
And let's stop acting like lex Cath is still relevant. How long has it been since they fielded a quality football team?

1a- Beechwood over Paintsville
2a- Danville over Mayfield
3a- Corbin over E-Town
4a- Johnson Central over Franklin Simpson (I think the true title game will be JC vs Wayne County)
5a- Cov Cath over Harlan County
6a- Trinity over St. Xavier

Luck... or in your words "crazy stuff"... is just where opportunity and preparation come to a head. I know you weren't taking a shot at Mayfield, but it seems to me that if "crazy stuff' seems to always happen when Mayfield plays someone, then it might not be crazy after all...

I'll agree with you to a degree but honestly our Eastern Kentucky teams really have it made compared to how it was in the 4 class system. When there were 4 classes you had Beechwood, NCC, Bellevue, and LCA in the east and any one of those teams could have won state in a given year. Those teams also played in the same region as Raceland and some years Paintsville. In that gauntlet of the eastern bracket it was very rare that you ever saw an EKY team make it to the finals. Granted, Beechwood seemingly has it "made" now but let's not forget how much harder our road used to be compared to how it is now.
