Anyways, to answer your questions: the traditional Thanksgiving day practice that's open to the public will be Thurs at 9:00 am. Several of the kids will be having dinner at my house that night, so yes you will have a chance to meet them. Not sure what time we will start tailgating Fri, but don't worry, I won't let you miss it. Ok then, I'll see you Thurs. Be safe in your travels west.
if something happens that I make it out toward Mayfield I'll probably be on a barbecue tour. I might get lost in Hopkinsville, Owensboro or Paducah if I make it out past Tompkinsville or Bowling Green.

Keep counting Mayfield out, I think they like proving people wrong. Mayfield by 14, then beat Danville by 7.

Its only Monday, and I'm ready for them to play... especially with the defacing the logo talk... I think if CAL wants to win they do not need to give Mayfield anymore fuel. I like my Cards in a close one... if you can stop Wright... but I know Dew, the guru, and he will have a plan for him.

A team of recruited and cherry picked elite D1 college players versus a group of homegrown, hard-nosed kids who play for the love of the game and do it the right way. Heck, PJ doesn't even know what a Centurion is. Nope, there's no doubt PJ has a front-row seat on the MF bandwagon this week.

Mayfield fan's what is your biggest concern going into this game? Is it stopping CAL's stud or the play of your own young QB. In my opinion the only above average defense you faced was Corbin (statistically) as it compares to the defense you'll see Friday. Most fans stated your QB didn't have the best game against Corbin. Are you worried about this factor? Do you think CAL will attack him with Blitz packages, risking the edges. Possibly making for big plays.

The game against Corbin we were with out one of our qb. An a couple others were hurt as well.. it deff took away some scores but Corbin was lucky to come away with that win.. stopping Wright is prob the biggest concern imo an part of our secondary... pretty sure we are with out our running back an one other.. but we have nice depth.. my son do u have a update on injuries
11-20-2017, 08:14 PM
I think both are a concern... but i would say stopping Wright gives you the best chance to win... your QB can have a heck of a game, but Wright can beat you all by himself

For MF, it starts with preventing big plays by Wright. DeSales contained him for the most part. The long td he had was pretty good defense. In fact, with that safety helping over the top, it was actually a bad decision by the QB. The kick return was just a guy that will play on Sat's taking advantage of guys that won't. I think CAL will come in hoping to push MF around up front, force MF to bring help into the box, which will open it up for Wright. MF needs to be able to stuff the run out of their base. I posted earlier that I think the key for MF offensively is being balanced and I'll stick to it. CAL is great up front and amazing at safety. It's the in between that can be exploited. I think Hatchel is a genius and I look forward to seeing what he comes up with.

Ok let's get this straight who was mayfield starting Qb before and after the Corbin game.
Mayfield Qb
Jaden Stinson 1669 yds 22 Td 0 rushing Td
Connor Guthrie 534 yds 7 Td 3 rushing Td
Kolby Kennemore 96 yds 2 Td 0 rushing Td
:blondetea Now who was missing at the Qb spot, and yes Corbin was lucky as h@@L to win with mayfield :ref1::ref1:

If mayfield dont turn the ball over they win by 20+ If they turn the ball over it could get dicey but Mayfield been looking at this game for a year now and revenge Mayfield 37 CAL 14.

I hope they think like you. Go ahead and blitz him early and get him in trouble. Once that happens, the surprise begins.

For the CAL fans or anyone else traveling the stadium is not located at the school the best address I can give you is 901 North 15th St Mayfield Ky it is the Sr Citizen Building and is next to the stadium

That's an easy question to answer. I will field that. Guthrie had a banged up rib. He was allowed to play wr and safety. They didn't want to use him at qb and take a chance at getting it injured further in Corbin game. That's the weapon Corbin's coaches said they were most concerned about. However, we learned the next week he actually had a broken rib. He was out for several games.

The two of them have started in different situations. They are two totally different animals to prepare for.

Who is the best passing team CAL has faced?
11-21-2017, 08:40 PM
All these comments about the passing game. So the Under/Over on Guthries plays at QB is set at 10. Which side are you on? What is CAL's bet?
11-21-2017, 09:19 PM
Both Mayfield qbs will play a great deal. Which one has more plays will come down to what CAL shows defensively. 3-3 stack will be Conner and 4-3 will be Stinson. Dual qb's is a great luxury, especially in terms of nerves and pressure. Either of those young men can have a bad night and MF can still win. Neither carries the weight of the world on his individual shoulders.
It's not like CAL doesn't have two qb's themselves, as I fully expect Wright will see some time back there. Interesting question is who has the advantage among the four? Carr has the experience, Stinson has the best arm, Wright has the best legs, Guthrie has the best arm/leg combo. Going to be fun to see how it all plays out.
