Thoughts?

As a BoCo dad and follower, I honestly have no idea. Both teams are going to bring it. I believe BoCo by 2 scores, but it could easily be the other way around.

I don't know a lot about E-Town but I do know a lot about Boyle's defense and I don't see E-Town scoring over 14-17 points on Boyle.

I do not see this game as being particularly close after the half. I will be surprised if Etown stays within 3 tds.
I have been wrong before.

I have watched Boyle, although they've got a lot better since. They are about as fast as advertised. But Etwon is not slow, and Etown seems to run things to perfection. Etown's back, Becherer isn't going to be much slower than Boyle's best. I'm going with the age/experience over the younger guys. I could see Boyle making more mistakes in this very big-time game. I won't be shocked if either team wins, but there are some outcomes I'd be shocked by, IE if either team wins by more than 3 touchdowns. If they can do that, they will have a chance against the winner of Central and Corbin.

E-town by 14. I think Boyle county is a year away. Even though the khsaa is doing everything they can to get Chuck Smith back to the title game before then.

I agree with that.

Really? If they win the whole thing will that convince you?

Convince me of what? That they're a good team? They are a good team, they're a really good team and believe it or not I have a ton of respect for them. They just happen to be a really good team lead by sophomores though. I think next year they'll be a shoe in to make it to the title game, unless the cross bracketing changes. I wouldn't be surprised to see them make it this year, but I still think etown gets them.

Cross bracketing has Boyle in Belfry's region and on the east side of the bracket next year.
I'm curious as to what makes you think the KHSAA is pulling favors trying to get Chuck Smith back to the title game?

That was more of a satirical remark because of the cross bracketing. Just pointing out how much Boyle has benefitted from central moving to the east. I don't think there was any real "pulling of favors" for chuck smith. You all were awful quick to get defensive though. Maybe I hit a nerve. Lol

Nope no nerve here, the cross bracketing is what it is. I personal don't like it, but nothing anyone can do about it. It may help one year and hurt the next. Instead of crying about it just play the team the KHSAA says and may the best team win with no excuses.

This is the game I'm hoping to go watch Friday. I am afriad to call a definite winner in this one. Boyle was very impressive when I seen them and I'm pulling for them to win, but I know zip about E-Town other than they have demolished everybody they've played in the playoffs just like Boyle has.
11-20-2017, 04:44 AM
I think Boyle wins this one by 14.

I'm still a little disappointed. I was really looking to a Boyle/Belfry game in the finals. Not looking past anyone, but myself and an old Belfry buddy have been jawing for years and were hoping for a meeting at Kroger field.
My prediction is Boyle by 14. Maybe 35-21. Something along those lines.

I'll be glad when Boyle goes back to 4A. Still hard to believe a county that populated, also with some pretty good achievements academically, is in 3A. The next realignment is going to be interesting. I also thing that schools should be checked each year. It's hard to compete with 3A schools who have 70+ kids.

This coming from the guy who accuses EVERY team in the state that is better than his of recruiting. I was just kidding around, and clarified when I realized that someone had taken it defferenrly than I intended. You would know about someone talking out their butt though, it seems to be the only thing you do.

You won't see Boyle go back to 4A in the next realignment they're a middle of the road team enrollment wise in 3A if you're from Casey you must know how small Boyle county is it's one of the smallest counties in the state, and with all the factories that Danville lost over the last 10 to 15 years I don't see the enrollment changing much anytime soon.

I was curious as to where Boyle was on enrollment. After looking at the KHSAA website I've found some of these figures interesting on the 4 remaining teams. I have no clue as to what or where Boyle stands on the next real alignment.
2013-14 Boys Enrollment: Boyle 378, Corbin 409, E-Town 380, Central 411
2012-13 Boys Enrollment: Boyle 390, Corbin 417, E-Town 397, Central 419
2011-12 Boys Enrollment: Boyle 427, Corbin 375, E-Town 380, Central 397
2010-11 Boys Enrollment: Boyle 445, Corbin 369, E-Town 369, Central 403
13-14 and 12-13 Boyle had the smallest Boys enrollment of the 4 remaining teams. The boy/girl ratio at Boyle has changed towards the girls side. Guess that's a good thing if you're a boy at Boyle. I wanted all Boys but the good lord gave me 3 girls to 1 boy.
Danville Christian Academy did start a high school in the middle of these 4 years. I'm guessing maybe that could be a reason for some of Boyle's decline in Boys.
