i think we all had bought into the hype a little with the Greenup coach, the âD1â QB, the new work ethic, and the positive momentum of the program. In reality, though, the coach gets outcoached big time against his former team and the âD1â QB doesnât look like heâs ready for that. All that adds up to the same old Greenup. They will be competing for third in their district like usual and hoping to avoid any unforeseen upsets the rest of the way against teams like Lawrence or Rowan.

All in all, this was a rather pedestrian effort for the Rams...they can play better. Theyâre headed for a date with Pikeville to see whoâs going to Lexington this year.

Salmons coaching is become way to conservative and I’m not talking about this game cause he did what he needed to do to win! Sometimes a coach can pull the reins back to much and it takes the fire out of their team! I just felt from the beginning of this game Salmons tried to call a perfect game and sometimes that looks like coaching not to lose instead of coaching to win! I would love to see the offense to speed up the tempo a little

They just didnât have the two guys Raceland has in the backfield. Getting pounded on by those two guys takes a toll on the defense. The QB has a D1 type arm which kind of went against him today. Hard to throw the way he likes to throw with a soaked ball. Monsoon like conditions out there today. Just hanging on to the ball was difficult for both teams.

If Raceland continues this run against Greenup and the games continue not being very competitive should this series eventually be discontinued and replaced with a tougher opponent? I understand the rivalry aspect of it and playing against your neighbors but if you are Raceland does this game really help you get better for the playoffs? Realistically I never see this happening but from a program building perspective maybe it should.

I was at the Championship game in Lexington last year. If you are serious about your comment, you really donât know football and we are lucky youâre a poster and not a coach. Beechwood beat you guys because of the Jimmyâs and Joeâs, not the Xâs and Oâs. I honestly think you should be praising your coaching staff. They prepared a team that beat Paintsville and Pikeville in back to back weeks with an anemic offense at best. 2017 Raceland team overacheived, big time. 2018 team looks way better to me (even though I watched them lose to Ashland). Coachâs play calling didnât look that bad to me. Btw, have you ever called plays on a Friday night with a play clock, down and distance, and player personnel to consider? If you have, then maybe I will rescind my low opinion of your coaching critique.

One thing I notice on here is a willingness to praise Grizzle and downgrade salmons I donât know if thatâs because mike is loud and some donât like that or if you guys are more grizzles age and snd know him personally, if you watched any of the three games Grizzle has coached against Salmons itâs plain to see mike is a way better coach

If you want to discuss football, ask a question or ask for opinions. You donât start it out by saying a negative about the coachâs play calls. Look, Iâm not a Ram fan. I am sticking with your threads because you guys are funny. I know you talk crap for fun. But if you want to talk about play calling and offensive strategy, just bring it up as such. And as for bringing up last year, I WAS talking football with you. Last year is a great example of how good of a staff I think you have. I think 2018 looks amazing and I attest that is do to good coaching. If you want to talk about football start a thread and we can talk all day. Well, I have to work but Iâll read and post when I can.

I think Salmons has shown his former boss and his former QB coach who is the better HC and who has the best staff and the best team.

Raceland is just better up front than most teams in the area, actually Iâd be willing to say Raceland has the best offensive and defensive fronts in the area.
Raceland is good, but I donât see them beating Pikeville but I donât know how well Pikeville is up front either so.
Also- a coach is usually almost as good as his players. Iâd be willing to say that Grizzle doesnât have as good of players as Mike, but he gets the most out of them that he can. Iâd be willing to say that with the talent Mike has, they should be better usually at least on offense. Itâs worked, the only thing I just didnât understand was going to the state title game against a powerhouse and playing not to lose.

Can’t say enough about what a great job this kids did ....from both teams...to get this game in! All coaches done a great job with the circumstances tgat they were facing! Even the fans that came back today...good job to all.
Greenup has a fan in the stands...a woman that screamed her dang head off the whole game Hahahahah I thought she was gonna blow a gasket!
