Corbin has weak coaching and no tradition. They will have a tough time staying close with Mayfield.

Never saw pass protection that long at the high-school level...But Corbin mainly runshes only 3 or 4, drop the linebackers into coverage, or the flats and I didn't see many blitz packages, at least that game. Beechwood's O-line is incredible.
Thatâs because beechwoodâs qb was more danger scrambling than throwing. He kept their first drive alive when he scrambled for a first down on 3rd and 15. Corbinâs D-line played patient and didnât let him scramble after that. When Corbin wanted to get pressure on him they did.

Corbin has excellent coaching, just not as good as MF's. Haddix is the best young coach I can think of but the vet Morris has more and a staff that I believe to be the best in the state. When Morris retires Haddix might be the guy we pick next. Corbin also has great tradition but don't kid yourself at it being equal to MF's. We have more wins, (4th Nationally), alot more state titles and lead the head to head record vs Corbin. Mayfield is a blue blood and that tradition gives our kids an extra edge. That is something you wouldnt understand until you have experienced it. Is it enough to beat a great Corbin team? No idea but it helps

Plus Mayfield coaches seem to get new pickup trucks.

Iâll tell ya what I thought Trinity fans were cocky. They donât hold a light to you Mayfield fans lol. I would say that I feel like youâre gonna get humbled Friday but I feel like youâll be the type to blame officiating weather or something similar

I think population in corbin is closer to 10K now.
The reason the numbers aren't figuring in your head is because of recipricol agreements. Corbin has hundreds of kids I'm their school system that live outside city limits in Whitley county as well as Knox and Laurel.
It's pretty much open enrollment and corbin is sitting in a perfect spot to pick and choose kids from the entire tri county area. Even if the recirpricol agreements didnt exist like the old days, kids could still pay tuition to attend corbin if they lived out of district.
It's what has worked for them for 100 years.

LOL good deal bc I canât stand blaming the officiating itâs a bad look. Danville was tough last year. They wouldâve did that to a lot of people. Good luck to Both teams. Hope for a good injury free football game. District play is about to start heating up so stay healthy!!!

I think the guru will be next, that is Cliff Dew. Hatchell would not because he is asst principal and he is younger.

Less than a .01% chance Mayfield scores 51 points. If you are a bookie, I need your number please.

Schools like Whitley have greatly closed the gap in the past decade but it's not because corbin is getting worse.
Corbin has pretty much always been a top 10-15 school district in the state. Most other schools in this area have been close to a state takeover at one point or another.
My sibling went to Corbin. We had to pay around 2000 back when we moved out of the city limits for tuition. That same year was my first year of school and my parents put me in Whitley to avoid a second kids tuition or I would have been a corbin alum as well.
Corbin has been and continues to be the standard for excellence in academics in SEKY.
Until recently no other school came close.

LOL! This may be the most arrogant statement I have ever read on Bluegrass Rivals. While I agree Mayfield has one of the best programs in the state, Corbin isn't chopped liver. So you are assuming that if you all pick Haddix as your next coach, he will drop everything and move to Mayfield? That is a bit conceded.

I just love reading all this stuff from everyone. All the smack talk is great. I do think that a few go a little too far but that is ok. Both of these teams are good, great coaches, tradition, and think they are the best team, and this Friday they will put it on the line. The boys on the field decide who is the best that night, not we who post. The winner does not always mean that they are the best because luck sometimes has a way of changing things. The ball doesn't always bounce in your favor. A mistaken bad call can go against you or a no call can also go against you. Sometimes you just aren't at your best and no matter how hard you try you just can't seem to do your best. This could happen to either team this Friday night. I hope it doesn't but it could. The team that plays the best. makes fewer mistakes, and gets the ball to bounce their way will win the game. I think both teams are evenly matched and it should be a good game. The young men on the field will give it their best and no matter what we think, post, or truly believe, they will be the deciding factor. All these post will not change a thing.

Most everyone knows about the offer Bowling Green made last year to hire him, but not too many people know he was contacted by a Lexington school and told him the job was his to take. I don't really expect Haddix to stay at Corbin forever, but I do think when he leaves, it will be for a shot at the next level.
