Yes
#3
I know undefeated. But can they beat Highlands?
#4
I have seen both play in person and I think Anderson will beat Highlands by 2 tds but I think most disagree.
#5
Anderson County is way underrated.
#6
But will they be ready to play a team of highlands caliber? They have played NOBODY! I still take Highlands by two scores.
#7
They haven’t played anyone. But not to say they can’t beat a good team. I think Highlands might win. It will be interesting to see how Highlands handles their OL that averages 300 lbs. if they have any good running backs. It will test their defense. I have nothing on Anderson’s defense. Other then I heard their nose guard weighs 400 lbs. I know one thing. Birds center won’t be able to block him

Highlands just needs to use the speed of their more athletic line. And run Buten instead of Schwalbach who just puts his head down and is lucky to get a yard or two. Also roll out your QB instead of staying in pocket. Can’t give them short field all night like SC game. Offense is playing better and don’t expect that to happen. If Anderson has to go70-80 yards each drive, the D of highlands will be fine. Has Anderson gone up against any passing team this year?
#9
Anderson is good. I watched them against Southern a couple weeks ago. Highlands better be ready to get hit in the mouth...that’s all I’m saying.
#10
Anderson will give highlands all they want. They have running backs as good as anyone and the line can play. Highlands isn’t exactly the highlands of old just yet

Everybody looks good against Southern!
#12
I heard about the Anderson offense. But does anyone know anything about their defense against the run and pass?
#13
Highlands will beat Anderson by 21.
#14
Birds better not be thinking about Cov Cath.

They better not be. But they will be waiting to prove themselves against and undefeated team.

Nope I’m with you. I’ve thought highlands was overrated since week 1. But I also think Lex Cath, Southwestern, Ashland, and a lot of other teams most don’t. But there’s a few out there no one is paying much attention to that are going to sneak up on people.
#17
Weather could be a big factor. Rain and wind will favor the big team.

blame khsaa

The true talent of Anderson might be in question. But there have been teams that have won state that really had very little competition during the regular season. That includes Beechwood, Highlands, NCC and Cov Cath.

There is a difference between little competition and playing bad teams. Anderson county has just played bad teams. the teams you mentioned were just that much better than good teams they played.
#21
Nope. Can’t agree with that one. They each might have beaten one good team during the regular season

I am not talking about this year’s Highlands team. Talking about teams That have won the state championship with very little competition in past years.
#23
I’m not talking about this years team either. Or the other 3 schools I mentioned

I don't like the program, but this is insane in regard to Beechwood. They've played Somerset, Corbin, CovCath, Simon Kenton, and NewCath. Ludlow and Lloyd are pretty decent. That's a heckuva Class A schedule.

Has anyone seen both teams play in person or on film besides me? Just curious what that individual would think. Looking at Highlands “great” wins, I would say Anderson beats Simon Kenton by 2 or more tds, and Lex Cath by 2 tds. This is a team that dominated Bell in a scrimmage, GRC, Franklin Co., and Montgomery Co, even though score was close.

If beating Simon Kenton this year is considered a "Great Win" then you are not a very good team.
#27
I thought that was Highlands 1 great win.

Thats the problem with Highlands this year, they havent played anybody but Cov Cath. No one. Is what it is.

But the same can be said about Anderson, their schedule is even weaker than highlands.

Franklin, GRC, and Montgomery are not what I would call very good teams.
