Very bad loss for Bath Co.

I have honestly said all I can, the people of Owingsville know it too. But I guess they want to keep him around

Iâm sorry, let me rephrase, ( only a few people in Owingsville want to keep him around)

Congratulations to coach Johnny Poynter on really maximizing his talent this year and taking this program to the next level. 7-4 and first round loss in playoffs is a huge accomplishment by him. Still hasn't won a game against a team as good or better than him and never will. Nice job coach!

From what I heard last night, poynter and his right hand man assistant really showed their true colors last night. There was a clock malfunction with 30 seconds left when the game was already decided, and a senior yelled â get the D$mn clock running so we can get off the fieldâ after that he was flagged ( which I have no arguement there) and poynter pulled him. Words were obviously said between them on the sideline and I saw both Poynter and the Assistant push the player and told him â Get the F&ck off the g!ddamn sidelineâ from there players attempted to calm their teammate. Good job Johnny! Great role model for the kids. Wildcat Nation, thereâs only so much you can defend but thereâs no excuse for this

I did get to come to a few of Bath Co. games this year(as work allowed). I will say I have read the majority of the posts and agree/disagree with some of what has been said about the head coach. I did make the game last night and am not sure how Poynter treats his players himself but I was very disturbed to see an asst. coach grab and shove a player in the final seconds of the game.

I would love to here the story of what happened Friday night! But man you sound like a trouble maker for the program. I hope things get squared away from Bath and Coach Poynter.

Then you lied. Just a few weeks ago you said you wanted him to have success and to stay around. I can go copy the quote if you need.

Yes I did say all of that, but after pulled a kid, got in into his face, and then pushed him after the kid stood up to him, with help from his assistant coach, I have changed my mind about him. If none of that happened I would hope he would do well wherever it is he went. Itâs never okay to put your hands on a player when youâre having a VERBAL altercation.

I'll say what I said in that thread. Bath can't do better than Johhny.
Also I think you've been in the middle of this little rebellion the whole time.
Be careful what you wish for.

That manâs lost his touch, it happens to the best of us. Nothing wrong with admitting it

Johnny Poynter is a great coach with a great history of bringing teams from the ashes into competitive teams. Bath County is lucky to have him...look at the what shape Bath County was in before he came...then think about if you should bash him behind your keyboard...better yet, if you have an issue with him talk to him face to face its easy to talk about someone on here...its hard to confront them. As for the incident...there is ALWAYS more to the story then what is seen or rumored to what happened on Friday. If you have concerns voice them to the administration and move on. If it was a big deal like everyone is letting on you would have heard more about it by now. Know that you guys at Bath have a good coach who cares about the kids and wants them to succeed. He puts a lot of time and effort into the program than previous coaching staffs. If you can't figure it out...there are A LOT of schools who would love to have him. Just my 2 cents.
