Bird's 45-7 running clock.

Anybody saying Anderson gets a running clock has not seen them play. Just had my coaching buddy send me Highlands defense scouting report. Their biggest starter is 215lbs? Is that real????? they looked bigger vs Catholic unless they are small too. So myself and 1 other has seen both teams in person and both have picked Anderson.

I believe we will beat Lawrence County with a running clock. I may actually go to this game. Will be interesting to see the biggest line in the state vs one of the smallest.

Have you watched any highlands teams over the years? They are usually always undersized to the competition. They win with speed, smart play, 110% play and good coaching. #1 on Highlands team is Huddleston, best player on both sides and looks like he weighs 180 lbs. I have watched Highlands over the years destroy teams with twice the size.

By and large, size is normally irrelevant in high school football.

Anderson outworks HHS in the off season.
AC 28-17
HHS will not outspeed AC

Hahahaha. I like it mister.

Does Anderson play kids both ways? I think that determines the style of offense Highlands plays. Slow or fast. If they play kids both ways I think they will go fast. As far as speed on defense. If you have a huge line. Running between the tackles. Speed is not a factor

I saw Highlands in a 7 on 7 early in the year which its hard to tell a lot from that. I saw Anderson in an actual game. Highlands looked really small. How is Highlands up front on defense with being able to stop the run? If I am an Anderson fan i am worried that Highlands played Cov Cath within a TD. I don't see any scenario that Highlands wins with a running clock but this game could go either way but i would think it would be within 1-2 touchdowns for whoever wins.

Anderson has a lot of players who are big and have bellyâs hanging over their belts. Highlands rarely has that style player. They tend to be lean, athletic and fast. I would be shocked if AC is faster.

If you are AC, does it worry you that Montgomery needed last second TD to beat a bad Dixie team. Montgomery probably best team on AC schedule. Highlands put running clock on Dixie in a game where they did not even play well.

That's a bold statement, Bird's roll in this one. Bring on the blue boys.

I stated earlier that I’m picking Highlands. They in past years had belly linemen too and ran right over people. College and pro guys aren’t built like body builders

Wait, I don't get to see it but the trash is fun even if I don't have a dog in this fight.

What trash talking? Just good pregame discussions on this thread.

Unfortunately, the state of KY HS football is so bad. We see time and time again where a school from down south/mountains/etc....are predicted to be GIANT KILLERS only to travel to NKY or Louisville and be sent packing. Many times with their "tails between their legs."
Best to all of the schools outside of NKY or Louisville.............but history don't lie.

I hope Anderson County absolutely pounds High!ands, but I don't think it will happen.

Seriously? I just watched some film of Anderson County and their D linemen are huge, but grossly overweight and very slow. After 4 plays they were standing with hands on hips gasping for air. They are going to be worked to exhaustion by the smaller, quicker, much better conditioned Highlands O line.

Isn't it great that Highlands getting back to a 2 seed is enough for the bandwagon fans to return to lecturing everyone else about how to play football?
The last 4 years they didn't win anything and the coach was stupid and the blame for it all but now what Anderson is and does is stupid. What changed?

I think he was being sarcastic. On one of these boards the Bluebird fans used to say that their secret was that they just outworked everyone and if you wanted to beat them just work harder than them.

BTW, I like big belly linemen.
They get the job done.

I think Highlands will go up tempo on offense. And try to go outside. Bubble pass and out pattern quick hitters. And they really like those 2. I also think on other pass plays they rollout their QB to make the big linemen run. Their running game isn’t that good. Especially running between the tackles. On defense I think they will crowd the line of scrimmage and dare Anderson Co to throw the ball

I remember that ridiculousness as well. Yeah highlands winning had nothing to do with out of district players and Covington Catholic not having a coach for a decade. It was because they worked soooo darn hard 🤤

I can bet you Anderson's line is nowhere near as good as Covcath's line. An Highlands defense did just fine. They fly to ball and if you go to the game you will see first hand. Highlands by at least 21.

Watched video of AC last night. Both lines are big but very slow. On a lot of plays linemen only moving 3-4 steps. Highlands speed will wear them out. Fell even more confident after see video.

Likely a boat race.
