I have to say, the Powell’s defense has been weak most of the season but I’m pretty impressed with how much they have improved and stepped up the last couple of games. Not sure that it will be enough to stop Corbin’s offense every time, but they will know they were in a battle with the Pirates. As for Powell’s offense, they are pretty skilled. They have a few who can run the ball and have a few that can catch it. They will switch it up, so don’t look for the ball to be going to the same person every time. I can say that Powell isn’t a powerhouse like Corbin, or stacked with players to let others rest, but Powell is not a team that you can over look. Don’t come into the game thinking about the next game. Just because the other teams on Powell’s schedule aren’t on Corbin’s level (4A) doesn’t mean they made an “easy” schedule for Powell. The Pirates have worked their tails off. The Pirates are hungry and i think it will be a little closer than what’s been predicted. I honestly don’t see a running clock in this game. As always though, GO PIRATES! #shockthestate

Is Powell better than they were last year or about the same? And in all honesty I do hope Powell challenges us. Games like last week for example, bring nothing to no one. Corbin nor Morgann county gained a single thing. But as much as I want a challenge to keep the boys sharp, I want a clock too. So they can get out of there and avoid any mishaps.

Lots of crying in the forecast.

The radio said last week even after the game with the rain that was coming down and what fell before it, the field looked great. They have a lot of props to the grounds keeper. I know KCs was destroyed after our game. Not saying he’s not as good or anything like that but as a comparison only. Other surrounding fields were also pretty bad shape. They made the comment that even between the hash marks it still looked like a carpet. Field WONT be an issue

In mid-November, boundless optimism that flows freely on a Wednesday is oft replaced by the cold reality of a Friday night.
#45
Praying for an injury free game with great sportsmanship.

I don't want to take away from last year's team in anyway. They had a great year and they lost some great Sr. Players but IMO this year's team is a little better. I believe this teams Sr. Players are better leaders which in turn has the rest of the team more focused and hungrier then last years.

Powell Co fans....The weather won't be a factor. The field won't be a factor. The only factor is that Corbin is better than you and will win the game easily.

I am willing to bet you will be crying about Corbin in next weeks thread versus bell about how bad you hate Corbin. I will bet that I never get on bluegrass rivals again if we lose, if you bet you will never post about Corbin again. Heck I am not even trying to get rid of you just trying to end your nonsense about Corbin.

Hoping and praying for no injuries and great sportsmanship.

Fair bet. He put his money where is mouth, well hand is, the ball is your hands now.
#56
I don’t bet. Of course Corbin will beat Bell.

I think they should move the game next week to Bell Co. A better stadium, more parking, better view of mountains than looking at those low rent homes across the road and smelly creek, and a place where actual recent state championship teams have played and kids actually born. 2008. I doubt corbin kids can subtract from 2018 to last time corbin won a title.

It’s not really gambling, more like a gentleman’s aggrement.
