Severe Weather
#1
Well, we have a tornado watch until 11. The wind is horrible here in Prestonsburg, especially at my house on the Mountain Parkway. I was upstairs in my room and heard the wind whistling or something and Mom yelled at me to come downstairs. We thought a tornado was coming or something.
Everyone be careful! DTfan's aunt just called me and said there are power lines down everywhere, and trees have been blown on top of cars at the convention center.

The weather has calmed down here alot. It was only some rain and most of it was lightning. But it's just getting dark now, not raining, and very little thunder. Hope everyone is okay. Sounds like it is still pretty rough in places.

My sister lives in South Williamson just a few miles from Belfry High School and she told me that some of the roofs have blown off houses, billboards along the hwy are blown down and there have been windows blown out of the williamson daily news and alot of the taller buildings in downtown williamson, wva and the the old south williamson (ky) grade school, trees and power lines down all over the place, debris everywhere.....I do think they they had a tornado go through there

I was in line at the Burger King drive thru in Pikeville when it started around 5:30. It felt like it was going to pick my car up. I went to Lowe's to get out of the storm and a buggy came flying by my car and ran into the passenger door. I came home and found 2 trees in my yard broken in half.

I was on my way home from Prestonsburg with my grandma and mom when it hit. We were over halfway home and it was horrible, election sign we're blowing everywhere and those big wooden Spencer signs were blowing around, road signs were being bent backwards, power lines were being snapped in half, trees being blown over into the roads leaves and sticks flying everywhere and it was raining really hard. When we got ohme my step-dad had to go catch the garbage cans because the wind had picked them up and was blwoing them in mid-air...he tied them down...the cover on my swimming pool was being blown so hard that i thought it was going to rip off. The electricity was off for most all of Mud Creek except for my house and it has been trying to go off but it hasn't yet fortunally. It's calmed down alot...

Up here is the David area outside of Pburg I drove by a trailor park after the first storm was over and and the botton parts of the trailors were blown loose and some were off and alot of trees have fallen also. And we had like marble sized hail fall for about 10 minutes. The wind was CRAZY !!!
