Agreed. You lose a player like Milton Wright while also losing a Head Coach like LeFors, who built this current CAL team into what it is today, then it's possible that a team could go from First to worst quick, fast, and in a hurry! I'm hearing rumors of a possible Scroggins to CAL hire. Is this just that, a rumor, or has anyone else heard this? A move like that could change everything as well.

Looking forward to see another Belfry team dominate once again.

It will be really interesting to see how the final game added to the schedule plays out. I have learned from a good source that two schools this week inquired about the open date availability. One from Columbus and one from New Jersey. Gees. I don't want to travel that far lol. I would hope something closer works out, but Haywood will play whom he feels best prepares his team for Nov/Dec.

I say bring in the team from NJ that called if they will make the trip....by the time that get over the culture shock they won't know what hit them and it will be time to load the charter bus for the long ride home.

Looks like Belfry added their tenth game at home vs. Sycamore (OH) from Cincy
Sycamore is a Division 1 school (Ohio's largest classification)
Last year they were 6-4 but missed the playoffs
2017 they went 9-3 and lost to Cincy St. Xavier in the 2nd Round
2016 they went 8-5 and lost to eventual State Champ St. Xavier in OT
Good add..

Scroggins will not go to CAL with his son playing at Desales.

Belfry has a great schedule and shows they will play anyone

Quick correction, it is NOT Sycamore Ohio the Division 1 team outside of Cincy
It is Bishop Sycamore from Columbus, OH.
They will be fielding their first official team.It is apparently the re-boot of Christian of Faith Academy with the OHSAA ruled was ineligible for the playoffs. They went 1-9 but played a Murderer's Row schedule including St. Ignatius, Huber Heights Wayne, and teams from TX, PA, St. Louis, and Canada.
Not exactly sure what to expect of them. They appear to be a wildcard.

Won't lose to Johnson central at pond creek

Question for u nuts down around Pond Creek. How do u all look at the scrimmage against Raceland? I for one, am excited about it as a Ram Fan. Personally, I, in no way anticipate anything being super competitive, Belfry is in another league. But I know it will give us an idea on where we are before the season starts. How do you all look at it? Raceland isnt a push over slouch team, but as I stated before, Belfry is in the Elite of the state among ALL classes.

Didn't know Belfry and Raceland had agreed to a scrimmage. Thanks for the info. In years past, Belfry has traditionally scrimmaged over in Southwest Virginia and Hazard. Should be a good workout for both squads

Add Whitley County to the schedule and ask Jep if I can ride the short bus.

Why do you always want to ride the short bus, a man of your caliber should have a front seat on the BIG BUS

I did ride the front seat of the big bus to Vipperman Stadium one time.

Well.....the road is MUCH better now.....4 Lane all the way. Unfortunately.....the roads have gotten better....but the coal trucks have gone away 😢😢

ambitious schedule, going to be tough sledding against that OH bunch, best of luck

DeSales will be loaded this year. We were a very young team this past year. We had our run, then CAL, had theirs, but I do feel like we'll be the team to beat on this side of the state for the next cpl of years. Scroggins is going to be a stud.

Can't see CAL losing to DeSales this coming season but I guess we'll find out.

I know.I've been that way a few times. Haven't been to Belfry in a while but I've been to Pike County Central.

I'm hearing the Bishop Sycamore game may be going away, and may be in search of a replacement. Anyone else hearing this?

This is correct. Something occurred and they backed out. Back to 9 games. They are desperately looking for a 10th

Unless I misunderstood someone, Bishop Sycamore is a new school being born out of
the crazy situation previously called "Christians of Faith Academy".....If you haven't
heard of them before, read this: https://www.thisweeknews.com/news/201809...nstitution
Absolutely wild! Wouldn't blame BHS a bit for dumping these guys.

Whether it be CAL or DeSales coming out of the west, Belfry will have their hands full against either team if they make it to the championship. People might think that 3A is "watered down" now. I agree and disagree. We lost some great teams. When you lose teams like Boyle, Corbin, Central, and Lex.Cath in one year like we have then most people will think that 3A is weak. I can understand that. But we gained two of the best 2A teams in the state last year in CAL and DeSales. Add a pretty good Ashland team coming down from 4A plus an up and coming Bell County team and a few others to go along with Belfry, then I don't think 3A is as weak as some people are saying. It's defiantly not as "top heavy" as previous years in my opinion but I do think 3A is still a very solid, all around football class.
